Thrift Shop To Open On Wed.

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine Street between East Fourth and East Fifth Streets, Jamestown, announces starting July 1 the shop will be open for sales and receiving Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. St. Luke’s is receiving only Tuesdays 9 to noon. The shop is well stocked with summer clothing for all and small housewares. This week only winter coats are $1, winter jackets and tops 50 cents. At this time customers are asked to enter on Pine Street and exit to the parking lot. There will be limited entry, social distancing, and face covering required.

Legion To Reopen Today

The Herman Kent Post American Legion, located at 26 Jackson Ave., Jamestown, will be opening today. Weekly hours are noon until 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. Friday the legion will be open until midnight and and Saturday the legion will be open until 2 a.m. Tuesday night Auxilliary dinners will start on July 7 starting at 5 p.m. Wednesday night will be blue grass music. Friday and Saturday night dinners be served. There will be no dinner on July 4 due to holiday.

Graveside

Service To Begin Wednesday

The Lake View Cemetery Association of Jamestown will begin allowing grave side services again starting Wednesday. All mourners attending grave side services are asked to keep social distancing protocols in mind and all are strongly urged to wear a mask while at the cemetery. Tents will be available for services; however side curtains will not be used at this time. Grave side services had been suspended at Lake View since March, when COVID-19 protocols were put into effect.

Farners’ Market Set For Thursday

LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood Farmers’ Market will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot at the corner of Chautauqua Avenue and West Summit Street, Lakewood. Products available include fresh local produce, grass-fed meats, artisan bread, pies and candies, handmade soaps, jewelry and fossils.

Zoning Board Meets On Wed.

The Jamestown Zoning Board of Appeals will meet at 5 p.m. Wednesday via Zoom. Notice is further given that persons in interest will be given an opportunity to be heard for or against the granting of the foregoing petition by the Zoning Board of Appeals by submitting their comments in writing via U.S. mail to the City Clerk’s Office, 200 E. Third St., Jamestown, NY 14701 or via email at www.clerk@cityofjamestownny.com. Comments will be read into the record and transcribed. The meeting will be livestreamed at jamestownny.net/live.

Education Board To Meet Thurs.

The reorganizational meeting of the Jamestown Board of Education will take place Thursday at 6 p.m. A copy of the agenda can be accessed at go.boarddocs.com/ny/james/Board.nsf/goto?open&id=BQPKBJ4E84FF.
