Museum Heaters Fixed, Now Safe For Occupancy

The Valley Historical Society recently had new overhead heaters installed in the museum building in Sinclairville. Last winter, a heater was discovered making loud noises. It turned out to be a worn out fan motor that is no longer available because of the age of the heaters which were installed new in 1978 when the museum was first purchased by the society. When removing the old heater it was discovered that the heat exchanger was cracked and emitting carbon monoxide into the room, so the decision was made to replace both heaters. The new heaters were made possible by a grant from the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation. The museum is now safe for occupancy and the new heaters will protect the museum’s collection this coming winter.
