CARTS Resumes Its Schedules

The Chautauqua Area Regional Transit System announced that regular weekday service, including all city and rural routes, will be operating on its regular schedules effective today. “CARTS is excited to reinstate full weekday services for its public transportation system as the County is expected to go into Phase III,” said Brad Bentley, director of Public Facilities for Chautauqua County. “Please remember facemasks or face coverings must be worn while on the CARTS bus as per the Governor’s executive order.” For more information or to schedule a trip, call CARTS at (800) 388-6534, 665-6466 or 366-4500.

Randolph School Board To Meet

JPS Board Sets Wed. Meeting

The Jamestown Public Schools Board will hold a special meeting Wednesday at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held via teleconference, streamed live at http://jpsny.org/BOELive, recorded and posted to the district’s website.

Class Of 1955 Reunion Nixed

LAKEWOOD — The Southwestern Central School Class of 1965 55th reunion scheduled for July 18 at the Lakewood American Legion has been canceled due to concerns with the coronavirus.

Farmers Market To Open Thurs.

LAKEWOOD — On Thursday, the Lakewood farmers and artisans market opens for its third season. The market runs to Sept. 3 every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The market is located at the parking lot of the former Wilson Farm, corner of East Summit Street and Chautauqua Ave. Vendors include Abers Acres, Sauntering Root Farms, Scotts Farm and Greenhouse, the Poppy Patch, Sunshine Honey, Gardens of Eternity, the Bread Box and Vanstrom Homestead. Among the products for sale are fresh organic fruits and vegetables, fresh herbs, eggs, grass-fed meats, bedding plants and flowers, honey and bee wax candles, wool knitting packets and handmade soaps and body products.

Grape Belt Golf Tourney Delayed

The Concord Grape Belt Heritage Association board of directors has postponed the annual Grape Belt Open golf tournament until 2021. “The board thanks its members, corporate sponsors, tee sponsors, golfers and the folks at Pinehurst Golf Course in Westfield for their past support, making this event one of the major fundraisers for the Grape Discovery Center in Westfield,” the board said. “Given the current economic climate affecting many of our supporters, the decision was made to postpone the tournament. Please mark your calendars for Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021, for a fun day of golf.” Donations are always welcome, payable to the CGBHA and mailed to the Grape Discovery Center at 8305 West Main Street, Westfield, NY 14787.

AARP Cancels 2020 Activities

AARP has canceled all in-person activities for the remainder of 2020, including AARP Driver Safety Classes. Anyone needing to renew their car insurance discount can take the class online at aarpdriversafety.org.
