Ministry Seeking Surplus Food

DUNKIRK — The Chautauqua County Rural Ministry, 319 Washington Ave., Dunkirk, is seeking surplus food from farmers, small scale food processors, fruit/vegetable stands, dairy and beef farmers who may have surplus product. As part of the Nourish NY grant given to Chautauqua County Rural Ministry, the program runs until Oct. 31. The ministry will financially compensate food providers for their product, which will be given to individuals and families in need of food assistance during the COVID-19. For more information, contact CCRM offices at 366-1787 and a questionnaire will be mailed. Chautauqua County Rural Ministry is specifically interested in fresh produce, dairy products, pork/beef products and other nutritious product. The Chautauqua County Rural Ministry is a community partner of the United Way of Northern Chautauqua County.

Donations Are

Sought For VA

On Sunday, June 14, 21, 28, from 9 a.m. to noon the Herman Kent Post Legion Auxiliary will have a box outside of the Legion or in the foyer. Donations will be delivered to the Buffalo VA Hospital and the Erie VA Hospital. There is a high need for men and women’s sweatpants, sweatshirts, underwear and crewsocks. Also needed are personal care products such as shampoo, deodorant and toothpaste. Only new items can be collected.

Holy Apostles To Resume Masses

Holy Apostles Parish will resume masses this weekend. All masses will be celebrated at St. John Church at 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 7:15 a.m., 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Masks or face coverings must be worn. No masses will be celebrated at SS. Peter and Paul Church due to renovations in process.

Alumni Assn. Cancels Banquet

BEMUS POINT — The Bemus Point 50+ Alumni Association’s July 18 banquet is being canceled due to COVID-19. The next banquet will be held July 17, 2021, at the Fluvanna Fire Hall.

Historical Society Participates In Fundraiser

FREWSBURG — The Carroll Historical Society in Frewsburg is participating in Give Big CHQ, an online donation site put on by the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation. The online donation site helps non-profit organizations around the county raise money. The Carroll Historical Society is an organization that helps preserves local artifacts pertaining to Frewsburg, Fentonville, Ivory and what once was Dodge. To donate, visit the givebigchq.org website and find the Carroll Historical Society there. The society needs a cabinet to store and preserve some old maps. Donations can help purchase the cabinet. The society is closed, but officials hope to be open in July. For more information call 569-5365, ext. 8.
