Lecture Series

To Be Streamed

The Chautauqua Lecture Series will be Father Richard Rohr, OFM, “The Resistance” on Access Chautauqua public television. The program is at 1 and 7 p.m. on Access Chautauqua. Chautauqua Sunrise, hosted by Doc Hamels, will have guest Ro Woodward, boat and water safety. The program is aired and streamed on Facebook live at 9 a.m. Saturday and then repeats at 2 and 8 p.m. Fresh Perspectives, hosted by Gail Erb, with Gail’s Home Remedies. The program is at 3 and 9 p.m. Repeat programming is typically re-aired throughout the week at other various time slots. All programming starts on Saturday with the final airing on Friday, June 12. Access Chautauqua, formerly Access Channel 5, is available to cable viewers in the Chautauqua, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Ripley, Sherman, and Westfield areas, and can be found on cable channel 1301. The programs may also be viewed after the initial airing at the station’s website accesschautauquacountytv.org.

Observatory To Participate In Give Big CHQ

FREWSBURG — The Martz-Kohl Observatory is one of 95 Chautauqua County organizations participating in Give Big CHQ, sponsored by the Chautauqua Region and Northern Chautauqua community foundations. The fundraising event, normally reserved for 24 hours, has been expanded this year, running from through June 11. The Give Big CHQ Chautauqua event uses an online platform that allows those within the community to donate funds to various nonprofit organizations. The online fundraising platform can be accessed at, givebigchq.org/organizations/martz-kohl-observatory. The Martz-Kohl Observatory is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501c3 organization and houses one of the largest public robotic telescopes in Western New York. The observatory can be contacted at 569-3689.

June Tractor Pull Is Canceled

SOUTH DAYTON — The scheduled South Dayton Volunteer Fire Company tractor pull for June has been canceled. The July tractor pull has been rescheduled for Aug. 8 and 9. “We look forward to seeing you and your tractor in August,” the fire department said in a statement.

BOCES Nurse Scholarships

Are Available

Full tuition scholarships for the Erie-2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES Practical Nursing program at the Hewes Educational Center will be available to all 2020 Career and Technical Education graduates accepted into the program.
