Route 18 Bridge To Close Wed. For Repairs

The Route 18 bridge over the Prendergast Creek in the town of North Harmony will be closed to traffic starting Wednesday for a bridge replacement project, which is expected to last about five months. Route 18, between Route 33 and Potter Road, will be closed to traffic during construction, and a detour will be posted utilizing Route 33, Webber Road and Morris Road. “The existing structure has been identified as needing replacement due to deficiencies in the steel girders, concrete decking, and bridge abutments,” said Brad Bentley county director of Public Facilities.
