Site Made For Local Addiction Resources

A new website, combataddictionchq.com, is available for those in Chautauqua County and the surrounding region to learn more about resources for the prevention, treatment and recovery from drug addiction. This website includes information on important topics including the state Good Samaritan Law, how to access services and other related information to inform the community and reduce stigma around addiction. The website also includes a searchable services locator and information on where residents can get Naloxone, the drug that reverses opioid overdoses, locally. The website was created with the collaboration of members of the Chautauqua Substance Abuse Response Partnership. This group of local organizations was established under a Rural Communities Opioid Response Program grant awarded to the Chautauqua County Department of Mental Hygiene. The implementation grant is a $1 million multi-year initiative supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration to address barriers to access in rural communities related to substance use disorder, including opioid use disorder.
