Auxiliary To Hold Meeting Wed.

The John W. Tiffany Post 53 Auxiliary will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday at the ILS Veterans Club, 364 Fluvanna Ave., Jamestown, at 5:30 p.m. All members and those eligible for membership are invited to attend. The legion has been asked by the VFW Department of New York to place an ad in the 2020 Journal and lottery tickets provided by Thomas Todaro, state commander, will be available at the meeting. The drawings will be held at state convention in June. The post has Girl Scout Cookie order forms from the president’s granddaughter, who is selling the cookies through March 11. The new Cookie Share Program allows members to purchase and send cookies to military families both stateside and deployed overseas through the Blue Star Mothers.

Donations To Cat Fund Are Sought

The Chautauqua County Humane Society has created the Roger H Johnson and Kay Swanson Community Cat Fund in memory of Roger Johnson and Kay Swanson, who together rescued and provided care for many cats and kittens in need during their lifetime. The Roger H Johnson and Kay Swanson Community Cat Fund is to be used to provide medical care and spay and neuter services to unowned cats in our community, including feral cats. Donations to this fund can be made online under the Giving tab at spcapets.com or by mail to CCHS with ‘Community Cat Fund’ in an attached note or as the memo.

Hemlock Pest Program Is Set

The High Allegheny Hemlock Conservation Partnership and Allegheny Forest Health Collaborative will host an event Saturday, March 7, at Allegany State Park to focused on the invasive pest known as Hemlock Woolly Adelgid, which is threatening native eastern Hemlock trees. The collaboration will lead a training session at Camp Allegany near Red House Lake from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A classroom training session will be followed by a hike to a nearby site to survey for HWA. Quilt Guild To Meet Thursday

WESTFIELD — The Westfield Quilters’ Guild will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Westfield YWCA. Four work stations will be set up in the meeting room and supplies will be available for use. Those attending may bring their own machine and supplies if they prefer. Those with a comfort quilt in progress can bring it to work on; otherwise, kits and tops will be available.

Legion To Hold Spaghetti Dinner On Match 14

CASSADAGA — A spaghetti dinner benefit held Saturday, March 14, at the Cassadaga American Legion on Maple Avenue in Cassadaga from 1-5 p.m. Dinner tickets are adults $8 pre-sale and $10 at the door. There will also be a Chinese auction, 50/50 drawing and a bake sale. For tickets, contact Lori at 338-6832 or Ashley at 260-3976.

Prendergast Library Board To Meeting Thurs.

The James Prendergast Library board will meet at 5:15 p.m. Thursday. All library board meetings are open to the public.
