High School Bowl Match Held

Warren Area High School defeated Youngsville Area High School, 99-34, and Westfield Academy & Central School, 62-33, in recent Media One High School Bowl matches at Jamestown Community College. Gareth Smith and Scott Stewart of Warren earned Player of the Match honors. The Warren team included Lyndsey Dippold, Katie Moore and Storm Sivak. Timber Bower, James Sorber, Anne Schwanke, Gage Hendrickson and Joe Mack represented Youngsville. Westfield team members included Savannah Lashbrook, Emma Heim, Elber Lopez, Chloe Smith, Allyson Schaaf and Issac Caballero.

Courses To Be Offered In Spring

The following adult interest courses are being offered at Pine Valley Central School in the spring: AARP Driver Safety Program (mature driving) March 3 and 4 from 5-8 p.m.; Pound (fitness class) Feb. 24, 27, March 2, 5, 9, 12, 16, 19, 23, 26, 30 April 2, 6, 9, from 6:30-7:15 p.m.; Zumba (fitness class) March 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, April 7, from 4:30-5:30 p.m.; and a five-hour pre-licensing course Saturday, March 14, from 7 a.m. to noon. Association To Hold Meeting

CLYMER — The Holland Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 6:30 p.m. at the Clymer Fire Hall. Anyone with interest is encouraged to attend the meeting.

Marvin House To Host Buffet

The Marvin House, 2 W. Fifth St., Jamestown, will host a Valentine’s Day Italian buffet from noon-2 p.m. The meal will include homemade sauce and meatballs and eggplant parmesan, along with other Italian dishes. A cannoli dessert will also be served. The meal costs $25 per guest, and reservations can be made by Feb. 13 by calling 488-6206.

Poland Town Board To Meet

KENNEDY — The Poland Town Board will meet Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 7 p.m. at the town hall in Kennedy. The public is welcome to attend.

High Schools To Host College 101

College 101: Parent Edition will be hosted at several high schools in February and March by Jamestown Community College admissions and financial aid representatives. The program, which meets from 6-7:30 p.m., is designed for parents of juniors and seniors who want to learn how to pay for college, regardless of the college their child plans to attend. Participants will learn about the financial aid process and will also hear insights from a parent and student who filed previously for financial aid. Seniors and their parents interested in completing the online FAFSA and TAP applications during the sessions should bring documents outlined in a checklist at sunyjcc.edu/sites/default/files/Adm-College101FAFSAChecklist.pdf. The program will be held at Salamanca High School on Feb. 26, Fredonia High School on March 4, Washington Middle School in Jamestown on March 11, and Cuba-Rushford Central School on March 18. Families from nearby school districts are welcome to attend the sessions at the host sites.
