To Meet Today

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Cassadaga Valley Central School Board of Education will host a special meeting at 7 p.m. today in the district office. The board is expected to call for a special session, according to the agenda.

Sip And Sample Event Planned

WESTFIELD — The Grape Discovery Center, 8305 W. Main St., Westfield, will host a Sip and Sample event on Saturday from 1-4 p.m. The event will feature a friendly competition between past and present board members to see who can make the best chili. A couple of guest chili-makers will also be on hand. Along with tasting the variety of chili’s, enjoy samples from Liberty Vineyards and Winery, Mazza Chautauqua Cellars, Sparkling Ponds Winery, Willow Creek Winery and Five and 20 Spirits and Brewing. Live music will be provided by Tim Bartlett Acoustic. Presale tickets are $12 and include all tastings and entertainment and can be found at grapediscoverycenter.com or by calling 969-4859. Tickets are $15 at the door the day of the event.

Community Craft Time To Be Held

KENNEDY — Community Craft Time at the Kennedy First United Methodist Church will be held today from 10 a.m. to noon upstairs in the adult Sunday School room. The craft time is open to all adults. For more information, call the church office at 267-2645. The church is located at the corner of Church and Second streets in Kennedy and is handicap accessible through the lower side door.

BPU To Repair Water Main

The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities said repair of a water main break on Fluvanna Avenue and Main Street in the city will require shutdown of traffic in the area beginning today at 7:30 a.m. The BPU will close Fluvanna Avenue, from Main to Gilberts, and 23rd Street, from North Main Street to Gilberts. Traffic coming into the city on Main Street will be unable to turn right on to Fluvanna. The main work could also cause discolored water in the area for 12 to 24 hours.

Free Seminar On Medicare Is Set

Janell Sluga and Tiffany Erhard from the Senior Life Matters program at Lutheran will be hosting a free seminar in February on Medicare Special Enrollment Periods. The program, titled “Medicare Special Enrollment Periods: What is so special about them?” will be held on Thursday, Feb. 13, from 3-5 p.m. at the new Edgewood Commons, 737 Falconer St. Topics to be discussed at the seminar include Medicare Advantage Plan enrollment periods, Medicare Part B enrollment periods, and new Special Enrollment Periods available to Medicare subscribers in 2020. Sewer Finance Panel To Meet

The Finance Committee of the South and Center Chautauqua Lake Sewer Districts will meet Tuesday, Feb. 4, at the water pollution control facility from 11:30 a.m. to noon. The public is welcome to attend.

Zoning Board Cancels Meeting

Due to a lack of agenda items, there will not be a Jamestown Zoning Board of Appeals meeting held in February.
