3 Injured In Crash On I-86

FINDLEY LAKE — Three people were taken to UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pa., after the vehicle they were in crashed Monday morning on Interstate 86. Randy Hamilton, first assistant chief with the Findley Lake Fire Department, said it appears the vehicle hit a patch of slush and lost control. The vehicle, which sustained significant damage, came to rest on the westbound on-ramp to the interstate. None of the injuries to the occupants was considered serious. Firefighters were assisted by Sherman and South Ripley volunteers.

Fenton To Host Guided Tours

The Fenton History Center will host three guided tours in February. “A Servant’s Life Tour” on Feb. 8 and Feb. 22 at 11 a.m. will teach those attending about what life would have been like for a servant in the 1800s. A tour guide will lead the group through a house tour, focusing on not only the Fenton family but their servants and others like them. “A Behind the Scenes Tour of the Fenton Mansion” will be at held at 10 a.m. Feb. 15. Fenton Archaeologist Tom Greer will lead the behind-the-scenes tour of the Fenton Mansion. The cost for each of the tours is $10 for adults and free for children ages 17 and under.

Library To Hold Spaghetti Dinner

FINDLEY LAKE — The sixth annual spaghetti dinner and jazz fundraiser for the Findley Lake Library will be held from 5-7 p.m. with music from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at the Findley Lake Fire Dept., 10372 Main St., Findley Lake. Local musicians and students from the Clymer Central School Jazz Band will provide entertainment. The cost is $10 adults and $5 for children. Benefits support the Alexander Findley Library. Pre-sale tickets are available and tickets will be available at the door. There will be a pass-the-hat donation for the musicians of Clymer Central School Jazz Band.

Payne To Speak To Tea Party

LAKEWOOD — The Southern Tier Tea Party Patriots will meet Tuesday, Jan. 28, at the Lakewood American Legion. Guest speaker will be Russ Payne, Carroll town supervisor, who will address the new bail reform legislation. The public is welcome to attend.

School Board Meeting Moved

SALAMANCA — The Salamanca City Central School Board has changed the location of its Tuesday, Jan. 28, meeting. The board will meet at Prospect Elementary School, 300 Prospect Ave., Salamanca, at 5:30 p.m. with members taking a tour of the capital project site.

Watershed Group Announces Dates

Beginning with the February 2020 meeting, the Conewango Watershed Commission will meet the first Wednesday of each month at the Orchard Street Eats in Cherry Creek at noon unless otherwise noted.

Support Group Meets Feb. 5

The LOOP (Loved Ones of Prisoners) Support Group meets the first and third Wednesday of each month at St Luke’s Episcopal Church. Members meet in the Fenn Library from 5-6 p.m. and is for family and friends of those in jail or prison.
