Trumpeter To Perform Dec. 13

RUSSELL, Pa. — Cable Hollow Church, 3157 Cable Hollow Road, Russell, Pa., will Chiz Rider in concert on Friday, Dec. 13, beginning at 6 p.m. Rider is a trumpet player from State College, Pa., and his “high-tech, high-energy, high-God” concerts are bold when it comes to his faith. Widely renowned in Christian and secular circles a like, he receives glowing reviews and endorsements. Rider has been refining his unique pop-jazz style, taking after greats like Louis Armstrong and Branford Marsalis. He became the youngest artist to be signed by Myrrh Records since Amy Grant. There is no charge for the concert; however, a free will offering will be taken.

Craft Time To Be Held Tuesday

Legion To Hold Breakfast Buffet

LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood Legion Post 1286 will hold a breakfast buffet on Sunday from 8-11 a.m. The cost is $8 per person, with a three-egg omelette for an additional $2. Children 3 and under are free.

CVCS Board Sets Meeting

The Cassadaga Valley Central School Board of Education will meet Monday at 7 p.m. in the Sinclairville Elementary cafeteria. The meeting is open to the public.

Benefit To Be Held Dec. 14

MAYVILLE — A benefit for Dawn Henry will be held Saturday, Dec. 14, from 1-5 p.m. at the WM L. Travis American Legion in Mayville. Henry has been battling Stage IV cancer. A donation of $10 will be accepted and includes entry in the door prize drawing. The meal will be pulled pork sliders, coleslaw and macaroni and cheese. Baked goods will be available, and the event will also include 50/50 tickets and music by local artists. Winners for giveaways will be announced throughout the event.

Aux. To Hold Dec. 11 Meeting

The Herman Kent Post 53 VFW Auxiliary will hold its monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at the ILS Veterans Club, 364 Fluvanna Ave., Jamestown. A former member is looking to rejoin, so members are encouraged to attend. The auxiliary is also looking to plan some fundraisers for the new year. Library Board Meets Thursday

LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood Memorial Library Board of Trustees will hold its final monthly meeting of the year on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the library, 12 W. Summit St. The meeting is open to the public.
