Parks Commission To Hold Meeting

The Chautauqua County Parks Commission will hold its last meeting of the year Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Chautauqua County-Jamestown Airport. The public is welcome to attend.

Church Choirs To Present Cantata

The Magnolia and North Harmony church choirs will present the Christmas cantata “Glory From Heaven” on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at the Magnolia United Methodist Church, 3969 Route 394, north of Stow. The performance will be followed by a tureen dinner with those attending asked to bring a dish to pass and table service. An Advent Bible study will be held at Magnolia at 9:45 a.m., and The Second Sunday of Advent will be celebrated at 11 a.m. The public is welcome to attend the services.

Rails To Trails Event Set Mon.

The Chautauqua Rails to Trails Board of Directors will host a “Cookies, Carols and Cocktails” event Monday at Big Inlet Brewery, 6169 Elm Flat Road, Mayville, from 5-8 p.m. The event will feature live Christmas music by Bill Ward and Friends, appetizers, cookies, giveaways and an ugly sweater contest. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available, and members and non-members are welcome to attend.

PARSE To Hold Meeting Dec. 12

Pennsylvania Association of Retired State Employees will meet of Thursday, Dec. 12, at 11 a.m. The group’s Christmas party will be held at the Eagles Club, at 2101 Pennsylvania Ave. East in Warren, Pa.

‘Service Of Christmas Grace’ To Be Held

On Sunday, Dec. 15, at 6 p.m., a “Service of Christmas Grace” will be held at the Kiantone Congregational Church. The service, which is open to all, invites individuals and families who come into the Christmas dealing with grief, loss of a loved one, hardships and loneliness making the joy of the season feel “blue” than bright. This service brings the gentle comfort of grace through the gospel of Jesus Christ to gently address the hopelessness, heartache and sting in the wounds to the soul. “This is an opportune time for those in the community who are down, jaded and dispirited to feel their difficult situation being validated and consoled by the grace of God,” said Pastor Mel McGinnis. There will be singing, candle-lighting, prayers and ministry of the word by Pastor PJ Pasieka of the Trinity United Methodist Church. Ministers of the Frewsburg area will also assist in the ministry of the evening.

Sherman Town Board Meeting Moved To Dec. 12

SHERMAN — The December Sherman Town Board meeting has been moved to Thursday, Dec. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Sherman Town Office, 111A Mill St., Sherman. For more information, call the Sherman Town Clerk’s office at 761-6770.

Sewer Agency Set To Meet

The Chautauqua County Sewer Agency will meet Thursday, Dec. 12, at 1 p.m. at the Mina-Findley Lake Community Center, 2883 North Road, Findley Lake. The public is welcome to attend.
