Gas Prices Are

1 Cent Cheaper

Gas prices in Jamestown are a penny cheaper this week at an average of $2.849, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report. Statewide, New York’s average held steady this week at $2.68. Only four states in the mid-Atlantic and northeast have more expensive gas prices on the week: North Carolina, Washington, D.C., Rhode Island and New Hampshire. The average price of gas in the Jamestown area for the same time last year was $2.858, AAA reported.

School Board To Meet On Dec. 11

RANDOLPH — The Wednesday meeting of the Randolph Central School Board of Education has been moved to Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 6 p.m. in the high school library. The public is welcome to attend.

JPS Board To Meet In Jefferson

Auditorium

The location of the Jamestown Board of Education meeting scheduled to take place today 6 p.m. has been moved to the auditorium of Jefferson Middle School, 195 Martin Road, Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend the meeting.

Sunday Breakfast

LAKEWOOD — Breakfast will be held at the Lakewood American Legion Post 1286, 174 Chautauqua Ave., Lakewood, the second Sunday of every month now through April 12, 2020. The buffet includes scrambled eggs, home fries, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausage, bacon, toast, orange juice and coffee. The cost is $8 for the buffet and $10 for the buffet and a made-to-order omelet. Children 3 and under are free. The public is welcome to attend.

Santa’s Family Workshop Set

Santa Claus will be at the Jamestown Area YMCA’s downtown branch Friday during the Y’s annual Santa’s Family Workshop from 7-9 p.m. This year’s events will include craft/ornament making tables, face painting and holiday tattoos, Christmas sing a long, inflatable obstacle course, holiday games, cookie frost, pizza, popcorn and beverages for purchase. The cost is only $1 per person and 2 and under are free. Artists Society Sets Holiday Pary Dec. 10

CELORON — The Chautauqua County Society of Artists will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the Celoron Community Building. The group will have its Christmas party. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to pass and an unwrapped ornament for an exchange. The group will decorate a tree at the party and draw names to choose an ornament from the tree to take home. The dishes members made at Ron Nasca’s Mudslinger Studio in Fredonia were available at the recently held Holiday Bazaart. Anyone who didn’t pick their up then should pick it up at the party. The show raised $250 at the bake sale/luncheon that was donated to the Fluvanna Community Church. Yearly dues can be paid at the Christmas party or at the first meeting in the new year in March. No meetings are held in January or February.
