Norden Women’s Club Lunch Set

The Norden Women’s Club will hold a member-guest lunch on Friday, Dec. 13, at the Moon Brook Country Club. Social time will be at noon, with the lunch following at 12:30 p.m. at a cost of $29. Following the lunch will be a program of songs by the Jamestown High School Madrigal Singers. Reservations are due by Dec. 6 by calling Brenda Fitzgerald at 485-1470 or Marla Oste at 397-8433.

School Board Meeting Moved

The Southwestern Central School Board of Education meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, has been moved to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, in the board room. The public is welcome to attend.

Parent Network To Host Webinar

The Parent Network of Western New York will host a webinar, “Supported Decision Making As An Alternative To Guardianship” from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 12. Supported decision-making is an emerging practice that allows people to retain all their rights while getting support in their decisions from trusted people in their lives. The training will teach about supported decision-making and how it is supported in a number of sites around New York. Sheriff’s Academy Will Be Accepting Applications

Applications for the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Academy will be accepted from Jan. 1 until April 15. The academy provides training for individuals interested in careers as police officers. Successful graduates earn up to 45 college credits and a certificate of completion from New York state’s certified basic police training course, a legal requirement for municipal police officers.After meeting Sheriff’s Academy entrance requirements and upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible to receive JCC’s law enforcement technology certificate. Applicants must reside in Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, or Allegany counties and be at least 20 years old to attend the academy.
