RTPI Will Hold Two Tours

The Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History, 311 Curtis St., Jamestown, is hosting two architecture tours as part of its upcoming holiday events. On Sunday, at 2 p.m., local resident and former architect Marlin Casker will lead visitors on a tour exploring the historical, cultural and artistic details and significance of RTPI’s headquarters building, designed by Robert A.M. Stern. The same tour will be offered on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 2 p.m., during RTPI’s annual Holiday Open House. RSVP to Amy Hudson by calling 665-2473 or emailing ahudson@rtpi.org.

Historical Society Celebration Set

BLOCKVILLE — The Harmony Historical Society holiday celebration will be on Tuesday at Carpenter Hall in Blockville. Those attending are asked to bring canned goods for the local food pantry and a dish to pass. Dinner will be at 6 p.m. followed by a fun night. The meeting will be the society’s last meeting of the winter. Library volunteers will continue to meet on Tuesday afternoons. All are invited to attend. The Harmony Historical Society is located on Open Meadows Road near Blockville.

Aux. Board To Meet Thursday

LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood Rod and Gun Auxiliary Board will meet on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The auxiliary will hold its annual Christmas dinner and installation of officers on Monday, Dec. 9, at 6 p.m. Paid dinner reservations are required to attend. Entertainment will feature the “Kokomo Time Band.” Greeters for the evening will be Sandy Carlson and Connie Whitman. Helpers are Dottie Enlow and Jan DeVoe. Please bring a new unwrapped toy for “Toys for Tots.” The officers being installed for 2020 are: president, Wanda McKotch; vice president, Sharon Purdy; secretary, Sally Gregory; treasurer, Connie Whitman; first-year trustee, Nancy Rasmussen; second-year trustee, Jan DeVoe; third-year trustee, Sally Hagg. Committee chairpersons are: chaplain, Mary Alonge; cheer, Jan Moran; scholarship, Arline Hazenberg; memberships/historian, Karen Carlson.

Sewer District Board To Meet

MAYVILLE — The North Chautauqua Lake Sewer District board will meet at 4 p.m. Thursday, at 2 Academy St., Mayville, in the of Chautauqua town meeting room. The public is welcome to attend.

Holiday Bazaar, Cookie Walk Set

CHERRY CREEK — The Cherry Creek United Methodist Church on Main Street in Cherry Creek will hold its annual December Christmas Bazaar and Cookie Walk on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be items for sale, Christmas cookies and a soup lunch. Hose Company Fundraiser To Be Held Dec. 8

RIPLEY — A fundraiser for the South Ripley Hose Company will be held at the fire hall, 10268 NE Sherman Road, Ripley, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8. There will be local small business vendors, a bake sale, Chinese auction and 50/50 giveaway. The public is welcome to attend.
