Local Thrift Store Needs Donations

The Community Outreach Center Thrift Store, located on the third floor of the First Lutheran Church, corner of Chandler and Center streets, is in need of gently used clothing and household goods. All proceeds from the sales benefit local charities. Store hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Harvest Dinner Set Nov. 19

The Lakewood Busti Golden Agers will hold its Harvest Dinner at the Lakewood American Legion at 12: 30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19. Those who have made reservations and paid in advance are reminded to bring a non-perishable food items to the dinner.

Quilt Guild To Meet Wednesday

BUSTI — The Chautauqua Region Quilt Guild will meet on Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 6:15 p.m. at the Busti Federated Church. The annual Harvest Dinner will take place. Guests are welcome to attend.

Dementia Communication Workshop Set

Chautauqua Opportunities Inc. Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Program is having a dementia communication workshop for family caregivers from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at the James Prendergast Library, 509 Cherry St., Jamestown. Communication skills of a person with Alzheimer’s disease or another related dementia will gradually decline as the disease progresses. Challenges associated with communication can lead to frustration and anxiety. Caregivers are invited to attend the workshop and learn what changes may occur and how to cope, prepare and respond. The state Health Department is helping pay for the session with grant money.

Genealogy Class To Be Held Thurs.

FREWSBURG — The Myers Memorial Library will be holding a genealogy class on Thursday, Nov. 14, at 6:30 p.m. The class is for both beginners and experienced genealogists. There is no registration needed and the cost is free. The class will include teaching of Ancestry Library Edition, Find A Grave, Family Search and Google. Computers are available or those attending can bring their own device.

Multiple Sclerosis Rap Group To Meet Saturday

The Chautauqua Region Multiple Sclerosis Rap Group will meet from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at UPMC Chautauqua, 207 Foote Ave., Jamestown. The support group is semi-structured. Hunters Breakfast To Be Held

ASHVILLE — A family and hunters breakfast will be held Saturday, Nov. 16, at Watts Flats United Methodist Church, 856 Blockville-Watts Flats Road, Ashville. The cost is $7 per person, with children 7 and under for free. Coffee will also be available.
