SWCS Board Meets Today

The Southwestern Central School Board of Education will hold a special meeting today at 5 p.m. in the board of education room. The public is welcome to attend.

Election Day Dinner Planned

An Election Day dinner will be held Tuesday, Nov. 5, from 4:30-7 p.m. at the Kiantone Fire Department, 2318 Stillwater-Frewsburg Road at Route 60. The cost is $10 for adults and $6 for child 5 to 12. Dinners will include Swiss steak, mashed potatoes with gravy, vegetables, salad, roll, pie and a beverage.

School Board To Meet Monday

The Bemus Point School Board of Education will meet Monday in the Maple Grove Middle-High School cafeteria. An executive session will be held at 5:30 p.m. followed by the regular meeting. The public is welcome to attend.

Turkey Party Is Set For Friday

ASHVILLE — The Ashville Fire Auxiliary will hold its annual Turkey Party on Friday at the Stow Road Fire Hall. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the party starts at 7 p.m. Door prizes, refreshments, 50/50, turkeys, hams, steaks, shrimp and pork loins will be available at the event. Meat Giveaway To Be Held

Lakewood Legion Post 1286 SAL and auxiliary will be hosting a meat giveaway from 3-7 p.m. Saturday with music provided by Brian K. Chase from 7-10 p.m. Food will be available during the giveaway. All members and guests are welcome to attend.

Salvation Army Plans Spaghetti Dinner Tuesday

The Kiwanis Club of Jamestown will hold its annual Election Night Spaghetti Dinner at the Salvation Army, 83 S. Main St., Jamestown, on Tuesday, Nov. 5, from 4:30-7 p.m. Adult dinners are $8, and children 12 and under are $5. The dinner will include spaghetti, meatballs, bread, salad, homemade desserts and beverage. Takeouts are available, and delivery is available within limited area with the purchase of five or more dinners. Proceeds from the event benefit local Kiwanis youth projects.

What’s New Fair At JCC Nov. 9

The 64th annual What’s New Fair, sponsored by the Jamestown Branch of the American Association of University Women, will be held at the Hamilton Collegiate Center on the Jamestown Community College campus on Saturday, Nov. 9, and Sunday, Nov. 10. Hours on Saturday are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Since 1955, proceeds from the fair have been awarded as scholarships to female Jamestown Community College and Jamestown Business College graduates who are pursuing four-year degrees. Over 300 young women have received more than $400,000.

Lounge Ribbon Cutting Is Set

A ribbon cutting for the student veterans lounge at Jamestown Community College’s Jamestown Campus will be held on Monday, Nov. 11, from noon-1 p.m. The event, free and open to the public, will be held in room 213, located on the second floor of the Hultquist Library.
