Women’s Club To Meet Oct. 19

The Norden Women’s Club will meet Saturday, Oct. 19, at noon at the Marvin House. A Swedish lunch will be served for $23. The program will include Bob Johnston and Jim Mitchner speaking about trolley history and restoration. Call Mardell Hanson at 386-6162 or Doris Landy at 763-7793 by Saturday to make a reservation.

Seniors To Hold Turkey Dinner

MAYVILLE — The Mayville Seniors are having a turkey dinner Nov. 2. Reservations and payment of $5 must be made by the next meeting Thursday, Oct. 17. Arrangements can also be made by contacting Janet Loomis at 761-6687 or Edna Brown at 789-2316.

Decorations Can Be Picked Up

CATTARAUGUS — All decorations placed at grave sites in the Liberty Park Cemetery, Cattaraugus, were to be removed by Oct. 1 as posted at the entrances to the cemetery. Those removed by the cemetery caretakers will be available for pickup at the cemetery office at 102 S. St., Cattaraugus, until Nov. 1, when they be disposed of.

Ethics Board To Meet Wednesday

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua County Ethics Board will meet Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 4 p.m. in Room 333 of the Gerace Office Building, 3 N. Erie St., Mayville. Current members of the board are Susan Dilks, John Lloyd, David Rowe, Rose Sebouhian and Mary Kay Szwejbka. For more information, call 753-4211.

JCC Board To Convene Tues.

The Jamestown Community College Board of Trustees will meet at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the boardroom on the Jamestown Campus with videoconferencing to the boardrooms on the Cattaraugus County Campus, Olean, and the North County Training Center, Dunkirk. The public is welcome to attend.

Quilters’ Guild To Hear Speaker

WESTFIELD — The Westfield Quilters’ Guild welcomes Ron Stefanak from Syracuse as the guild’s national speaker on Thursday, Oct. 17. Social time begins at 6 p.m. with the meeting starting at 6:30 p.m. Stefanak will start his three-day visit with a trunk show of quilts featuring his paper piecing talents.

Ellicott Offices To Close Friday

The town of Ellicott Administrative Offices will be closing at 3 p.m. on Friday. The office will reopen at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.

Apple Butter Fest Set For Oct. 19.

The West Portland Baptist Church, 7081 E. Route 20, Westfield, will be hosting its sixth annual Apple Butter Festival on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Old-fashioned apple butter will be available for a donation. There also will be over 40 vendors offering various sale items including food. The festival will take place rain or shine. All profits generated from the festival will be donated to the Nina’s Kitchen Brocton/ Portland Food Pantry.

CVCS Board Meets Tuesday

CASSADAGA — The Cassadaga Valley Central School Board will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the middle-high school multi-purpose room. The public is welcome to attend.
