Tournaments Begin Sept. 24

CHQ Cornhole will begin hosting weekly blind draw cornhole tournaments at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Elks Lodge 263, 339 E. Fourth St., Jamestown. Tournaments will be held weekly starting at 6 p.m. The public is welcome to participate regardless of skill level. For more information, follow CHQ Cornhole on Facebook.

County Meetings Are Canceled

The Chautauqua County Legislature’s standing committees on Public Facilities and Administrative Services scheduled for Monday have been canceled because there are no items on their agendas.

Historical Society Meets Today

FREWSBURG — The Carroll Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting on today at 7 p.m. at its facility located at 5 W. Main St., Frewsburg, behind the Carroll Town Hall. The discussion will be on changing of the bylaws and constitution and upcoming election of officers and their duties expected for the upcoming year. All members are asked to attend. Meetings are opened to the public.

‘Ask Us’ To Take Place Tuesday

“Ask Us” will take place Tuesday from 6-7 p.m. at Dow Park, located across Sixth Street from the James Prendergast Library. All elected officials and candidates from all parties from the state, county and city have been invited to give the community an opportunity to ask questions, face-to-face with representatives and candidates.

Arts Program To Hold Orientations

The Infinity Visual and Performing Arts program will hold its first new student orientation sessions of the 2019-20 program year from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday and 4 to 5:45 p.m. Thursday. Students can take a guided tour, meet the Infinity staff and sign up for lessons. To reserve a spot, call the Infinity Center at 664-0991. The Infinity Center is located at 301 E. JCC Trustees To Meet Tuesday

The next meeting of the Jamestown Community College Board of Trustees will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the boardroom on the Cattaraugus County Campus, Olean, with videoconferencing to the boardrooms on the Jamestown Campus, Jamestown, and the North County Training Center, Dunkirk. The public is welcome to attend.

Historical Society Dinner Set

BLOCKVILLE — The Harmony Historical Society’s monthly dinner meeting and annual meeting will be held on Tuesday. As the organization continues to celebrate North Harmony’s centennial, the program is about the summer camps that existed in the town. Information from the society’s archives and research by Pam Brown about Camp Twa-Ne-Ko-Teh, Camp Wakonda, Camp Ronnoco and Camp Timbertop will be presented. Anyone who wants to share information about the camps is welcome to attend the meeting. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. with dinner. Those attending shoudl bring a dish to pass and their own table service. The program portion begins at 7 p.m. The Harmony Historical Society is located on Open Meadows Road in Blockville.
