Thrift Shop Announces Sale

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St. between East Fourth and East Fifth streets, Jamestown, announces the following schedule for clothing Bag Sale: Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Friday from 10 a.m. to noon. Bags are $3 or two for $5. The shop will be closed for sales Saturday and will re-open for sales on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at 10 a.m., with new fall merchandise. Parking is available in the church lot.

Liuzzo To Hold Open House

Andrew R. Liuzzo, Libertarian candidate for mayor of Jamestown, will hold an open house and grand opening of his campaign headquarters at 317 Pine St. today at 4 p.m. Michael Halpern, president of MuniReg LLC, will be present for a brief discussion on blight and zombie house foreclosure. MuniReg specializes in vacant municipal property registration and helps communities address “zombie foreclosures” through education of loan servicing industry best practices and sharing of available resources.

To Meet Wed.

The Breast Cancer Support Group of Jamestown will meet Wednesday at the Celoron American Legion on Jackson Avenue, Celoron. Dinner of the member’s choice is at 6 p.m. The guest speaker will be Kyle Manscuk from the office of Dr. Jarvis Ibabao, 21 Porter Ave., Jamestown, at 7 p.m. for a question-and-answer period. Lake Group Will Hold Meeting

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua Lake Protection and Rehabilitation Agency will meet Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the legislature chambers on the third floor of the Gerace Office Building, 3 N. Erie St., Mayville.

VFW Auxiliary Sets Meeting

The Herman Kent Post 53 VFW Auxiliary will hold its monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the ILS Veterans Club, 364 Fluvanna Ave., Jamestown. All current members and those eligible for membership are encouraged to attend. The auxiliary has several events and fundraisers planned for this year. For more information, call 664-7538.

Beekeepers Slate Thursday Meeting

The Chautauqua County Beekeepers Association will meet Thursday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m. at the Frank W. Bratt Ag Center, 3542 Townline Road, Jamestown. Anyone interested in bees and beekeeping is welcome to attend.

Job Corps Offers Career Training

The Cassadaga Job Corps Center has immediate openings for individuals seeking free career training in the nation’s leading industries, including construction, health care and security protective services. Offered by the U.S. Department of Labor, Job Corps is the largest nationwide residential career technical training and education program in the country and has been operating for more than 50 years. The program helps eligible young people ages 16 through 24 complete their high school education, earn college credits, train for meaningful careers and connect with employment, apprenticeship, military opportunities.
