Happy Days Set For Saturday

The Herman Kent Post will be hosting Happy Days on Saturday from 8 p.m. to midnight. The post will be offering a fish fry and stuffed shells. There will also be a meat giveaway to benefit the post. Dinners are from 5-8:30 p.m. A snack menu also available.

JCC Agreement Has Been Updated

Jamestown Community College and Erie Community College have updated an articulation agreement for JCC graduates transferring into ECC’s dental hygiene degree program. The agreement outlines recommended courses to make JCC students more competitive for the dental hygiene program. Students who are accepted into ECC’s dental hygiene program should plan to begin at ECC during a fall semester. Students will spend four regular semesters and a summer session in the ECC program. Casino Trip Gathering Set

Those going on the United Senior Council Seneca Niagara Casino trip on Wednesday, August 28 must be at the Lakewood American Legion on Chautauqua Avenue no later than 8:30 a.m. to board the bus. Anyone with questions is asked to call Connie at 763-0544.

Library Book Sale To Be Held

The Prendergast Library, 509 Cherry St., Jamestown, will hold its quarterly half-off book sale from Thursday, Sept. 5 through Saturday, Sept. 7. The book sale is open during regular library hours. All books are half off during the quarterly sale. Adult hardcovers are $1, adult paperbacks are 50 cents, and all children’s books are 50 cents. Bags of books can be filled for just $10; the library provides the bags. The library’s regular book sale is ongoing, and is open during all library hours. During the regular sale, hardcovers are $2 and paperbacks are $1.

Free Red Cross Workshop Set

Learn how to prepare for emergencies and disasters and how to respond accordingly at a free workshop at the Prendergast Library on Sept. 25 at 4 p.m. The American Red Cross’ course, “Prepare, Respond, Recover: What to do When Disaster Strikes,” is run by a trained representative. This class is free and open to all ages. Please register for this event by calling the Information Desk at 484-7135 ext. 225. Drop-ins will also be welcome as space allows.

Historial Society To Take Field Trip

BEMUS POINT — The Bemus Point Historical Society will take a field trip back in time on Sept. 11 as the monthly meeting will be held at the Hotel Lenhart on Lakeside Drive in Bemus Point beginning at 7 p.m. Hosts for the evening will be the Johnston family, third generation hoteliers, who will offera tour and share interesting stories and history of the hotel. The meeting is free and open to potential members. The historical society on Alburtus Avenue will also host an open house on Saturday, Sept. 14, in conjunction with the Bemus Point Fall Fest.
