Food Pantry To Open Tuesday

KENNEDY — The Kennedy First United Methodist Church Food Pantry and Children’s Clothing Closet serving Falconer School District residents is open Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. The pantry strives to provide each family with between two and three days of food, but is limited to type depending on the food donations that have been received. The pantry is stocked through individual and group food and monetary donations. The clothing closet provides children’s clothing birth-teen sizes. For more information, call the church office at 267-2645. The church is located at the corner of Church and Second streets, Kennedy, across from the Poland Town Hall and Kennedy Post Office.

Craft Group

To Meet Today

ELLINGTON — The Ellington Quilters and Crafters will meet today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ellington Farman Library. All adults are invited to come, work on their project or to visit. The group meets the first and third Mondays of each month. The library is located in the former Lock, Stock, and Barrel on the Town Square in Ellington, 760 Thorton Road. The library is handicapped-accessible.

Gather Tuesday

The Jamestown Public Schools Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the board room at 197 Martin Road, Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend.

JCC Trustees Meet Tuesday

The next meeting of the Jamestown Community College Board of Trustees will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Room 116 of the Training Center on the JCC North County Training Center, Dunkirk, with videoconferencing to the boardrooms on the Jamestown Campus and Cattaraugus County Campus, Olean.

Town Board Holds Meeting

COLDSPRING — The Coldspring Town Board met Aug. 8 for its regular meeting. Supervisor Tina Hyde called the meeting to order. Members present were Wendell Craig Anderson, Kenneth Dechow and David Chapman. Also present Ronald Brooks, highway superintendent, and members of the Steamburg Cemetery Board: Clayton Barber, James Boyer, Danton Godfrey and Randall Brooks. Minutes were read from the July 11 meeting by the town clerk and approved as read by Hyde. The meeting opened and members of the Steamburg Cemetery spoke about the cemetery and answered questions from the Town Board. A motion was made to hold a public hearing for Local Law No. 2 granting partial exemption on real property taxation and unreimbursed medical expenses. The Town Board next meets on Thursday, Sept. 12.

Historical Society Meets Tuesday

BLOCKVILLE — The Harmony Historical Society and the Chautauqua County Genealogical Society will have a joint meeting/tureen picnic on Tuesday at the museum, 1943 Open Meadows Road, Blockville. Ruth Nichols will be speaking on what she found in five drawers of “donated” files at the Barker museum and how she indexed them. President Gail Dash will review the research material available in the Genealogical Society Garland Room at the Barker Museum and items of interest in the Museum. Dinner begins at 6 p.m.
