Annual Stuff The Bus Campaign Set

LAKEWOOD — Donations are being accepted for the annual Stuff the Bus campaign through Aug. 18. The campaign benefits the Jamestown Public Schools’ LEAP program and the Chautauqua Center’s sixth annual backpack giveaway. Six hundred backpacks will be filled with back-to-school items and given away to Jamestown Public Schools students. Those who want to make a donation can visit the school bus located in the mall’s Center Court. Items needed include crayons, colored pencils, notebooks, pencils and backpacks. The mall will also hold a Back-to-School Party from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, with games, crafts and a bounce house provided by the YMCA of Jamestown. The event is sponsored by the Chautauqua Center, JCPenney, YMCA of Jamestown and GoGo squeeze.

Village Board To Meet Today

SINCLAIRVILLE — The village of Sinclairville will hold its regular monthly board meeting today at 7 p.m. in the Village Office, 8 Lester St., Sinclairville. The public is welcome to attend.

Bemus School Board Meets Mon.

The Bemus Point School Board will meet Monday in the Maple Grove Middle-High School on Dutch Hollow Road, Bemus Point. Two public hearings will be held beginning at 5:15 p.m. to discuss the district’s code of conduct and emergency response plan. The regular meeting will begin at 6 p.m.

Library To Host Auction, Barbecue

WESTFIELD — The Patterson Library will host its annual auction and chicken barbecue from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Eason Hall. The library is accepting donations for the silent and live auction. Chiavetta’s chicken barbecue tickets are $12 a person and include chicken, two side dishes and desserts prepared by Karin Cockram, a library volunteer who serves as one of the Patterson Society co-presidents. Caregiver Support Group To Meet

The Alzheimer’s Association Western New York Chapter will host a caregiver support group meeting at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, at Jamestown Area Medical Associates, 15 S. Main St., Jamestown. Respite services are available by calling 800-272-3900. Programs are free to attend, but pre-registration is encouraged to ensure there are enough materials and to relay any changes to the schedules. Information about dementia and caregiver resources is also available through the Chautauqua County Office for the Aging at 753-4582.

CVCS To Hold Work Session

CASSADAGA — The Cassadaga Valley Central School Board will hold a work session and its regular monthly meeting Monday beginning at 6 p.m. The meetings will take place in the middle-high school multi-purpose room.

County Land Bank To Meet Aug. 14

DUNKIRK — The Chautauqua County Land Bank Corporation will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 14, in the main conference room at the Fredonia Tech Incubator, Dunkirk. The public is welcome to attend.
