The CBB sees around a 30 percent drop in blood donations over the summer months. As the exclusive blood supplier to UPMC Chautauqua hospital, it is vital there is no drop in donations this year. “The summer months is the time of year we look forward to the most,” said Jaclyn Seymour, community relations specialist. “However, the critical shortage the CBB is currently facing is a matter of public safety right now. We need people to come donate. There is no other option.”
