N. Harmony Offices To Close

The North Harmony town offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday for Fourth of July holiday. Offices will reopen on Monday.

Local Authors’ Works At Library

CHERRY CREEK — The Cherry Creek Free Library has added works by local writers, including “Prey” by Jim Majka; “Get Out Of My Bed” by Shirley Wooten Rose; and “Thankful Blessed Individual” by Ryan Young.

Gazebo Concert Season To Start

BUSTI — The Busti Gazebo Concert season will begin Saturday with Slim Griffin and the Country Gentlemen, back by popular request. Members of the band are Slim (Eldred) Griffin, leader of the band on vocals, guitar and fiddle; Greg Griffin on vocals and bass guitar; Mark Griffin on lead guitar; and Don Pitts on vocals and drums. A special appearance by Marge Griffin on keyboard and vocals will also be held. All concerts are from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and are sponsored by the Busti Hamlet Development Association and the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation. Call Jesse Robbins at 664-2060 for more info.

Kayak Mass Is Set For Sunday

St Luke’s Episcopal Church will hold its monthly Kayak Mass on Sunday. Participants are invited to join paddlers from 4-6 p.m. for a group excursion that will conclude with a service of Communion on the lake. The July launch will be from Celoron Park. The event is open to anyone, regardless of religious affiliation. Paddlers should bring their own canoes and/or kayaks and life vests. There will also be a limited number of rentals available through Evergreen Outfitters, who will deliver the kayaks and equipment to the launch site. Anyone interested in renting should contact Evergreen in advance at 763-2266. Participants are asked to contact the church office at 483-6405 for more information.

School Board To Reorganize Mon.

BEMUS POINT — The Bemus Point School Board will hold its reorganizational meeting Monday in the cafeteria at Maple Grove Middle-High School, Dutch Hollow Road. An executive session will be held at 5:30 p.m., with the reorganizational meeting to be held immediately afterward.

Ross Grange To Hold Park Picnic

The regular meeting of Ross Grange was preceded with a buffet meal. Robert Goodwin presided. Lecturer Betty Wakefield led a discussion from an article in the “Good Days” National Grange magazine regarding broadband service and paper or digital. Plans for the display booth at the county fair were reviewed. Subject will be “Home Raised Sustainability.” Members will provide needed items and arrange times to erect the booth. Mary Jane Griffith has made arrangements for the annual picnic to be at Hallquist Park in Kennedy on July 8. Two members will be recognized for years of service. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Those attending should bring a dish to share and a lawn chair.

S. Dayton U.M. Sets Concert

SOUTH DAYTON — The Dunnemans will perform at 11:15 a.m. Sunday, July 7, at South Dayton United Methodist Church. The public is welcome to attend.
