Habitat Ground Breaking Saturday

The Chautauqua Area Habitat For Humanity will have a ground-breaking ceremony at 27 Norton Ave., Jamestown, at 10 a.m. Saturday. Habitat officials are seeking volunteers to work at the site (no experience needed), to coordinate construction efforts, to contribute refreshments, to assist with family support and selection, to provide community outreach by recruiting volunteers, writing articles, maintaining a database of volunteers, speaking about habitat and raising funds. The public is welcome to attend the groundbreaking ceremony.

Parks Committee To Meet Today

FREWSBURG — The Chautauqua County Parks Committee will hold its monthly meeting at Erlandson Park in Frewsburg at 4 p.m. today at 4 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.

Vacation Bible School Dates Set

Clark’s Corners Community Church, 1 Gospel Lane, Kennedy, invites all the children in the area to join the church for its Vacation Bible School from Aug. 5-9. At “Giddyup Junction,” kids will gallop to new frontiers, not in the Old West but in the book of Acts. They will learn about God’s love through the accounts of Peter, Philip and Paul. They will learn about the good news of God’s love that has saving and life-changing power. Classes are available for age 3 up through grade six. Quilters And Crafters To Meet

ELLINGTON — The Ellington Quilters and Crafters will meet Monday, July 1, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ellington Farman Library. All adults are invited to come, work on their project or just visit. The group meets the first and third Mondays. The library is located in the former Lock, Stock, and Barrel on the Town Square in Ellington, 760 Thorton Road. The library is handicap accessible. Lake Agency Board Meeting Set

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua Lake Protection and Rehabilitation Agency board will meet at 4 p.m. Monday, July 8, in Room 331 of the Gerace Office Building, 3 N. Erie St., Mayville. The agency was formed pursuant to Resolution 315-17 of the Chautauqua County Legislature to evaluate lake protection and rehabilitation needs and make recommendations to the legislature regarding the creation of Chautauqua Lake protection and rehabilitation district(s) as may be necessary in the best interest of the people of Chautauqua County. The public is welcome to attend.

Class Reunion To Be Held Aug. 24

The Jamestown High School Class of 1979 will celebrate its 40th class reunion on Saturday, Aug. 24, at the new Doubletree Hotel, 150 W. Fourth St., Jamestown. The reunion event will hold a social hour from 6-7 p.m. with cash bar, followed by buffet dinner and DJ.
