Dale Drive Project Has Begun
CASSADAGA — A shoulder expansion project on Dale Drive in Cassadaga has begun. The project involves adding a 5-foot asphalt paved shoulder to the existing road. The road is not expected to be closed to traffic during construction. Temporary lane closures during construction working hours are expected to occur into August. The work zone traffic controls will involve temporary lane closures to one side of the road at a time during working hours. The road is expected to be opened to two-way traffic during non-working hours. “Once completed, Dale Drive will be able to safely accommodate pedestrian and bicycle utilization,” said Brad Bentley, county public facilities director.
Thule Lodge To Meet Thursday
FALCONER — The Thule Lodge will meet Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Falcon’s Nest in Falconer for a meeting and refreshments. Summer birthdays will be recognized. Thule Lodge serves to preserve the Swedish heritage through events and activities, and new members are always welcome.
Library Summer Book Sale Set
MAYVILLE — The Mayville Library will be holding its annual summer book sale from Friday, June 28, to Saturday, July 6, during library hours. A variety of materials will be available to purchase, including adult books, children’s books, magazines and cookbooks. For more information, call the library at 753-7362.
Canine Rescue To Be Hosted
HARTFIELD — The Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue will be at the Olde Corner Deli in Hartfield from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday for Deli Dog Day. Stop by, meet some volunteers and dogs and tickets for the Celebrate Our Colors giveaway with more than $100 in red, white and blue items.
Food Pantry To Be Open Saturday
KENNEDY — The Kennedy First United Methodist Church Food Pantry and Children’s Clothing Closet serving Falconer School District residents is open Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. The pantry strives to provide each family with 2-3 days of food, but is limited to type depending on the food donations that have been received. The pantry is stocked through individual and group food and monetary donations. The clothing closet provides children’s clothing birth-teen sizes. If you know of someone who needs that extra hand, please let them know we are here to help. For more information, please contact the church office at 267-2645. The church is located at the corner of Church and Second streets in Kennedy across from the Town Hall and post office and is handicap accessible through the lower side door.
Magnolia UM To Hear Speaker
MAGNOLIA — Audrey Ray from the Seneca Nation will be the guest speaker at Magnolia United Methodist Church, 3969 Route 394, north of Stow, on Sunday at 11 a.m. The service is in observance of Native American Ministries, which supports Native American congregations and seminary scholarships. The service will be followed by an indoor picnic. All are welcome to attend.
