Cassadaga School Board To Meet

CASSADAGA — The annual organizational meeting and the regular monthly meeting of the Cassadaga Valley School Board will be held on Monday, July 1, at 7 p.m. in the middle-high school multi-purpose room.

Go-Kart Unit To Perform Monday

The Zem Zem Hornets, a precision go-kart parade unit from Erie, will be performing on the Lutheran Campus at 715 Falconer St. on Monday at 6:30 p.m. (weather permitting). The free exhibition will be in the Warner Place parking lot and is open to the public. Community members are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and come enjoy the fun. Father’s Day Car Show Sunday

The War Veterans Recreation Inc is hosting its annual Father’s Day car show and chicken barbecue on Sunday. Dinners will be available from noon until sold out and cost $10 each. A limited menu will be available from the club’s kitchen also. The event is held rain or shine.

Historical Society To Hold Meeting

FREWSBURG — The Carroll Historical Society will hold it’s monthly meeting on Monday at 7 p.m. in their facility located at 5 W. Main St., Frewsburg, behind the Town Hall. Members are ask to attend. Discussion on the GiveBigCHQ online donation, open house and other business will be discussed. Also sign up for Saturday openings will be available at this time. Public is welcome to attend.

UPMC To Host Blood Drive Tues.

The Community Blood Bank will host a blood drive Tuesday from 8 a.m. to noon at UPMC Chautauqua, 207 Foote Ave., Jamestown. Walk-ins are welcome at the blood drive and appointments are available. “School is out for summer, the weather is finally warming up, and it is time to start thinking about summer fun,” said Jaclyn Seymour, community relations specialist for the Community Blood Bank. “However, the need for blood is year-round. It is crucial the blood supply does not drop during the summer months. Please consider taking an hour of your time to help save lives in your local community.”

Ripley School Board To Meet

RIPLEY — The Ripley Central School Board will meet Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in IRLA Library at Ripley Central School. The public is invited to attend.

Ice Industry Presentation Set

BLOCKVILLE — On Tuesday, the history of the ice industry on Chautauqua Lake will be presented to members of the Harmony Historical Society by Fletcher “Ned” Ward, a local historian and author from Bemus Point. Ward has spent a number of years researching many events, attractions and industries found on and around Chautauqua Lake. Among those topics is ice harvesting, a thriving industry that spanned from about 1870 to the 1930s. His third book entitled “The History of Chautauqua Lake’s Ice Industry,” includes much of the research that will be featured during his presentation. Dinner begins at 6 p.m. Those attending should bring a dish to pass and table service. The program starts at 7 p.m. All programs are open to the public. The society is located at 1943 Open Meadows Road in Blockville.
