PVCS Board To Hold Meetings

SOUTH DAYTON — The Pine Valley Central School Board of Education will hold special meetings on Monday and Wednesday at 7 p.m. both evenings in the board room in the elementary school. It is anticipated that the board will go into executive session immediately both evenings: Monday to interview interim superintendent candidates and Wednesday to discuss matters relating to the process of hiring of a new superintendent of schools. There will be no action taken at these meetings.

City Hall Ladies To Host Reunion

There will be a reunion of retired City Hall ladies on Wednesday at Alfie’s Restaurant in West Ellicott at noon. For more information or reservations 488-1415.

Candidates To Meet With Public

A meet-and-greet with Republican candidates for office in the November elections will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Myers Memorial Library. Among those attending are County Executive George Borrello, running for the vacant 57th state Senate district position; Russell Payne, running for Carroll town supervisor; and Susan Rowley, running for Carroll town clerk.

Little Theatre To Meet Wednesday

The annual meeting of the Lucille Ball Little Theatre of Jamestown Inc. will be held on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The meeting is at the auditorium of the theatre at 18 E. Second St., Jamestown.

Frewsburg Gala Days June 15

Moose To Hold Dinner Benefit

FALCONER — The family and friends of Rachel VanGuilder are hosting a spaghetti dinner and Chinese auction at the Falconer Moose, 11 S. Dow St., on Saturday, June 8, from 2-7 p.m. The benefit will assist VanGuilder as she faces her recent diagnosis of bone cancer. Police Set Seat Check June 8

LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood-Busti Police Department will hold a child safety seat check Saturday, June 8, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the police department, 20 W. Summit Ave. During the check, technicians will look at each seat and assist with any issues.

Society To Hear Guest Speaker

The Bemus Point Historical Society Guest Speaker Series continues on Wednesday, June 12. Local historian and author Fletcher “Ned” Ward shares some history regarding strange and unusual boats.
