Fundraiser To Be Held For Museum

SHERMAN — The Sherman Historical Society is sponsoring a fundraiser to raise money for maintenance issues at the Yorker Museum. The museum has six historical buildings, a meetinghouse and gazebo, which require constant repairs and upkeep The current fundraiser, “A Special Sherman Stay,” is for an overnight stay at the Sherman Inn on Main, a bed and breakfast establishment, two dinners at the Ox and Rooster Steak House in Sherman and a special tour of the Yorker Museum. Tickets are being sold for $5 each with the drawing of the winning ticket on Sherman Day, Saturday, Aug. 3. Tickets can be purchased from any member of the Sherman Historical Society Board of Directors or at the Yorker Museum during the Memorial Day Celebration.

Pantry Truck

To Be At Church

ASHVILLE — The Food Bank of Western New York Mobile Pantry Truck from Buffalo will be at the Ashville United Methodist Church today. Open hours are 10 a.m. to noon and 3-5 p.m. The truck brings fresh produce and some staple items. To receive free food, proof of address from the following ZIP codes is required: Ashville 14710, Bemus Point 14712, Celoron 14720, Lakewood 14750, Niobe 14758, Panama 14767, Stow 14785 and anyone who lives in the town of Busti. Fire Hall To Host Dance Saturday

RANDOLPH — The Randolph Fire Company will host a round and square dance from 7-10 p.m. Saturday at the fire hall, 70 Main St., Randolph. Music will be by Paul Zittel and Pure Country. Admission is $10 a person, $15 per couple and $25 per family. Food and refreshments will be available.

Dog License Reminder Issued

LAKEWOOD — The town of Busti is conducting a dog enumeration. Residents are reminded that New York state Ag and Markets Law requires all dogs 4 months old and older need to be licensed and have a current rabies vaccination. The license fee for dogs that are spayed or neutered is $5 per year; a license for unspayed/unneutered dogs is $13 per year. A current rabies certificate and spayed/neutered certificate will be required at the time of licensing. Residents that harbor an unlicensed dog will be required to pay a one-time fee of $5 in addition to the license fee. Owners who fail to license a harbored dog will be issued a court appearance ticket. All dogs must be licensed at the Busti Town Administration Building, 125 Chautauqua Ave., Lakewood. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

City Library To Host Book Sale

The Prendergast Library, 509 Cherry St., Jamestown, will hold its quarterly half-off book sale starting Thursday, June 6. The event will run through Saturday, June 8. The book sale is open during regular library hours. All books are half off during the quarterly sale. Adult hardcovers are $1, adult paperbacks are 50 cents and all children’s books are 50 cents. Bags of books can be filled for just $10; the library provides the bags. The library’s regular book sale is ongoing, and is open during all library hours.
