Author To Speak On Wednesday

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Free Library, 15 Main St., Sinclairville, announces that author Karen Wielinski will present a book talk at the library on Thursday at 6 p.m. Wielinski will discuss her book “One on the Ground: The Story of One Family Before, During, and After Continental Flight 3407 Crashed into Their Home,” which was published in 2017.

TEA Party Group Meets Tuesday

LAKEWOOD — The Southern Tier TEA Party Patriots will meet Tuesday at the Lakewood American Legion. “Control the Words, Control the Culture,” a critical Prager video will be shown. Other topics to be addressed include: immigration crisis at the border; Venezuela’s failure and regression into socialism; a preview of Glenn Beck’s “Socialism: A Warning From the Dead”; and a review of “Want to Make Money? Work for the Government.” An update on the July 4 parade will be given. Meetings are open to the public.

Church Craft Time On Tuesday

KENNEDY — Community Craft Time at Kennedy First United Methodist Church will be held Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon upstairs in the adult room. This is open to all adults. For more information, please call the church office at 267-2645. The church is located at the corner of Church and Second streets in Kennedy and is handicap accessible through the lower side door.

The Southwestern Central School Board of Education will hold a work session meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the board of education room. The public is welcome to attend.

Charlotte Road To Be Closed

CHARLOTTE — Nelson Road in the town of Charlotte, between Andrews and Hooker roads, will be closed to all traffic Tuesday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Pantry Assisting Families In Village

MAYVILLE — The Mayville Food Pantry (St. Paul’s Episcopal Food Pantry), located at 99 S. Erie St., Mayville, has been assisting families to supplement their food needs since 1986. Located at the Cheryl Steinbach Outreach Center, the Mayville Food Pantry serves families in need residing within the Chautauqua Lake Central School District and is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The pantry is closed holidays and for inclement weather. Eligibility is based on residency and income and clients can “shop” the walk through pantry twice a month.

Sewer Board To Meet Wednesday

DUNKIRK — There will be a meeting of the board of directors of the Portland, Pomfret, Dunkirk Sewer Board on Wednesday at 3 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Dunkirk meeting room on Willow Road. The public is welcome to attend.

Garden Festival Planned June 1

ALLEGANY — The fourth annual Allegany Flower and Garden Festival will be held Saturday, June 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the RH Livingston Community Center and Fireman’s Park, 188 W. Main St., Allegany. Admission to the event is free.
