Stockton Traffic To Be Closed

STOCKTON — Town of Stockton, between Cummings and Fredonia-Stockton roads, will be closed to all traffic Wednesday at 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. A Detour will not be posted.

Memorial Service Set For Sunday

The Town of North Harmony will host a Memorial Day service on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, located at the corner of North Maple and Fardink avenues. The public is invited to attend. Some seating will be available, but those attending should bring a lawn chair if they wish. Town offices will be closed Friday through Monday for Memorial Day. The office will re-open Tuesday.

Boys And Girls Club Open Today

The Winifred Crawford Dibert Boys & Girls Club will be open for all youth on Friday for the day off from school in the Jamestown Public School District. Hours at the Club for youth members are noon-4:45 p.m. All program areas will be open and there will be lunch at noon and an afternoon snack. Free swim will be from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Youth members can attend at no charge while non-members are $1/day which goes toward their annual membership cost. Adult open hours are 7 a.m. to noon. There are adult Water Aerobics and Arthritis Swim Classes that day, as scheduled. The Club will be closed Friday night through Monday for the Memorial Day holiday. Regular programming will resume on Tuesday.

Golf Tournament To Be Held

The 2019 Frewsburg Legion Golf Tournament will be held at 8am on Saturday, July 27, at Blueberry Hill Golf Club in Russell, Pa. All Legion members and guests are welcome to attend. This four-person scramble will feature traditional hole competitions and prizes along with lunch and beverages on the course. A steak fry and awards ceremony will follow at the Frewsburg Legion. The cost per team is $300 per team, $75 per golfer. Registration deadline is Friday, July 19. Walk-A-Thon Set Saturday

CASSADAGA — The Cassadaga Library will hold its annual Walk a Thon on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. The walk will begin at the Cassadaga Library on Maple Avenue in the village, and walkers will walk the perimeter of the Cassadaga Lakes. Registration and sale of tickets begins at 9 a.m. at the library. Prizes will be awarded at random following the walk. Refreshments will be available. The Cassadaga Library is a branch of the Mary E. Seymour Library of Stockton.

Communitywide Yard Sales Set

Organized by the Mayville/Chautauqua Community Chamber of Commerce, the annual communitywide yard and garage Sales for the Mayville, Chautauqua and Dewittville areas will take place on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. There are many sales signed up to take place that day. A sales address list and accompanying map is available at no cost at chamber member businesses in the yard sale area. Look for the red or orange displayed yard sales posters designating the business as a chamber member.
