Flag Placement Planned Thursday

The United Veterans Council of Jamestown is looking for volunteers to help place flags on veterans graves. They will be placing flags Thursday Lake View Cemetery beginning with a short memorial service at 6 p.m. in Soldier’s Circle. Call 450-6768 for more.

Annual Parade Monday In Busti

BUSTI — The annual Busti Memorial Day Parade will be held Monday beginning at 9 a.m. at the site of the old New Beginnings Rest on Busti-Sugar Grove Road. Any troops interested in marching including former servicemen and servicewomen, and those serving now should meet before 9 a.m. at the starting site. Music will be provided by the Southwestern Central School Band. Pastor Lee O’Brien of the Busti Federated Church and Pastor Roy Ferguson of the Church of God will preside over the ceremonies to be held at the Gazebo between the fire hall and the cemetery. The Lakewood American Legion Post 1286 will participate in the services. The Busti Fire Department and Ladies Auxiliary will host a free breakfast after the service.

Church To Host Monday Service

FREWSBURG — Fentonville United Methodist Church, 106 Old Fentonville Road, Frewsburg, will be hosting its annual Memorial Day service on Monday at 10:30 a.m. A traditional celebration honoring fallen heroes will feature patriotic music by local talent. The guest speaker will be Pastor Mel McGinnis. The service will be followed by a parade of attendees who will march to the Fentonville Cemetery where a short ceremony will be performed by the local American Legion.

Barbeque Set At Panama Fire Hall

PANAMA — The Panama Fire Department will be holding it’s annual chicken barbecue on Monday at the Panama Fire Hall from 11:30 a.m. until sold out. Chicken dinners will be include a half chicken, applesauce, macaroni salad, roll, dessert and a drink for $10. All proceeds to benefit the fire department.

Raise The Roof Event Friday

MAYVILLE — Chautauqua Area Habitat for Humanity will host its “Raise The Roof!” fundraiser from 6:30-9 p.m. Friday at the Chautauqua Inn and Suites, Mayville. There will be food, a cash bar, basket giveaways and music by T.J. North featuring music from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. The menu includes pizza, mini beef on weck, meatballs, stuffed mushrooms, bruschetta, deviled eggs, a salad station, cheese, vegetables and relishes as well as a cash bar. Tickets are $25 per person and are available pre-sale only by calling or texting Mike Ricketts at 338-8864.

Town To Host Services In Park

ASHVILLE — North Harmony will host a Memorial Day Service on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Veteran’s Park, located at the corner of Fardink and North Maple avenues, Ashville. All are welcome to attend. The town offices will be closed from Friday through Monday for Memorial Day.

Church To Hold Rummage Sale

DEWITTVILLE — A rummage sale and bake sale will be held at Dewittville-Hartfield United Methodist Church, Route 430 and Meadows Road in Dewittville, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
