Driver Classes To Be Held

Bethel Lutheran Church, 904 W. Third St., Jamestown, will sponsor the following two six-hour AARP Smart Driver Classes: Monday and Tuesday, May 20 and 21, from 5:30-8:30 p.m., and Monday and Tuesday, June 24 and 25, from 1-4 p.m. Pre-registration is required by calling Jack Twinam, volunteer certified smart driver instructor, at 488-1264. The cost is $20 for AARP members and $25 for non-members. Upon successful completion, the participant will receive a 10 percent discount on auto insurance for three years.

Cemetery Board To Hold Meeting

WESTFIELD — The Westfield-Portland Union Cemetery will have its annual spring board meeting on Wednesday, May 15. It will be held in the First United Methodist Church in Westfield at 7 p.m.

Library To Host Alzheimer’s Group

WESTFIELD — Alzheimer’s Association of Western New York chapter educators will present Know the 10 Warning Signs at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 16, at the Patterson Library, 40 S. Portage St., Westfield. Church’s Ladies Aid Luncheon Set

KIANTONE — The Kiantone Congregational Church’s Ladies Aid will meet Thursday, May 16, at Cable Hollow Golf Course for the annual Ladies Day Out luncheon. Fifteen ladies met for the April meeting. Joan Sponateo and Shirley Goggin were hostesses. Jean Berg opened with a prayer and led the meeting. Loretta Smith shared an article from Pastor Scott Hannon for devotions. Karen Swanson read the secretary’s report and Joan Spontaneo read the treasurer’s report. Five women attended the spring cleaning. There was a discussion about a quilt for the lawn social to be held during the summer. Marilyn Lewis closed the meeting with a prayer.

Water District Board To Meet

DUNKIRK — The North Chautauqua County Water District administrative board will meet on Thursday, May 16, at 4 p.m. at Fireside Manor Restaurant, 5377 W. Lake Road, Dunkirk.

Board of Health Meeting May 16

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua County Board of Health will hold its next meeting Thursday, May 16, at 6 p.m. in the HRC Building, fourth floor conference room, 7 N. Erie St., Mayville. Anyone seeking further information or wishing to attend this meeting should call the Public Health Director’s Office at 753-4590.

Library Annual Plant Sale May 17

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Free Library’s annual plant sale will take place on Friday, May 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to noon at the library on 15 Main St. in Sinclairville. Donations of plants for the sale are always welcome. Hardy locally grown perennials, annuals, shrubs and trees are some of the offerings that will be available. Early shopping is recommended for best selection. All proceeds benefit the library. The library will be closed on Monday, May 27, in observance of Memorial Day.
