JPS To Host Budget Hearing

A special meeting of the Jamestown Board of Education will take place today following the budget hearing, which begins at 6 p.m. at Persell Middle School, 375 Baker St., Jamestown, in the auditorium. The public is invited to attend.

Salamanca To Hold Hearing

SALAMANCA — The Salamanca City Central School District will hold an open hearing to review the 2019-20 Title VI grant at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Seneca Allegany Community Center. The grant provides funding to Salamanca schools based on the number of Native American students enrolled in the district. Title VI funds many services and programs for Native American students and families. Michala Redeye is the Title VI Native American Program Coordinator and oversees all Native American services and programs within the district. “I work closely with the Title VI PAC, Seneca Nation, SCCSD administrators and teachers along with support staff to ensure that we are supporting our students effectively,” Redeye said. “We have a great team here at SCCSD and the Seneca Nation.”

Toastmaster Club Meets Today

The Chautauqua Talks Toastmasters Club will meet at 7 p.m. today at the James Prendergast Library in the community room. The club meets the first and third Tuesday of each month. CELORON — The Celoron Village Board will met at 5:30 p.m. today in the Celoron Community Center, 47 Dunham Ave., Celoron, to discuss and take possible action on herbicide permits. The public is welcome to attend.

Theatre Show Moved To June 1

The Winged Ox Players have rescheduled its May 4 Reader’s Theatre show for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 1, in the St Luke’s Episcopal Church undercroft. Vanya and Sophie and Masha and Spike by Christopher Durang will be performed. It is a comedy with adult content. Tickets will be available at the door for $10.

School Board Hearing Today

CASSADAGA — The Cassadaga Valley Central School Board will hold a budget hearing and special board meeting today at 6 p.m. in the middle-high school multi-purpose room. Immediately following the budget hearing and special board meeting, the audit committee will meet in the board of education conference room. The wrong date for both meetings was posted previously.
