Arts And Crafts Fest Planned

RANDOLPH — Preparations are under way for Randolph’s 47th Annual Arts and Crafts Festival on Saturday, June 15, at Weeden Park, just take Exit 16 off Interstate 86. The festival is a one day event running from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is a family oriented event scheduled to have arts, crafts, food and entertainment. There is no rain date for this event; it will be held rain or shine. RACDC is currently accepting vendor applications for crafters and food vendors. 5-Hour Course At Frewsburg HS

FREWSBURG — A five-hour pre-licensing driving course will be held at Frewsburg High School on Monday, May 6, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The cost is $25. Preregister by calling the guidance office at 569-7026 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. When calling, please make sure you have your permit on hand.

Cinco De Meow Announced

The Chautauqua County Humane Society and the Beer Snob are teaming up for an event on May 3 and 4. Cinco De Meow will give adopters the opportunity to come to CCHS and adopt a cat that is 6 months or older for just $5. On top of the savings on the adoption fee, the Beer snob is offering a coupon for complimentary “Great Ducking Tacos” from their menu to the first 20 adopters. “This time of year we are full with cats, and this is a fun way to find homes for as many as we possibly can,” said CCHS director of community relations Brian Papalia. “Marty Schwab from the Beer Snob on Washington Street in Jamestown jumped on the idea when it was presented to him and wanted to help any way he could.” The Chautauqua County Humane Society is located at 2825 Strunk Road in Jamestown. Church In Final Days Of Drive

KENNEDY — The Kennedy First United Methodist Church congregation is in the final week of its 40 days, 40 items collection. Individuals have been selecting one item from their clothing or home every day of Lent to donate to First Lutheran Church’s Thrift Store that then donates the sales proceeds to various organizations in the area. The bags containing the 40 items can be brought to Kennedy First United Methodist Church on Sunday or donated directly to the thrift store or a place of choice. Kennedy 1st United Methodist Church is located at the corner of Church and Second streets, Kennedy across from the Kennedy Town Hall and post office. The church is open from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sundays. Sunday school at 10 a.m. and worship is at 11:15 a.m. The church is handicapped-accessible through the lower side door and has a lift to the sanctuary and classrooms.

Fenton To Host May Day Concert

The Fenton History Center will host a Victorian May Day concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 9, in the Fenton Mansion. The pianist will be Charles Johnson with vocalist Marci Johnson. There will be opportunities to learn about the history of piano manufacturers in Jamestown, listen to victorian music on the mansion’s 1887 Ahlstrom piano and have light refreshments. The cost is $10 per person. Tickets are available in the Fenton History Center museum gift shop. To register, call 664-6256 or visit fentonhistorycenter.org.
