Library Board To Meet Thursday

The James Prendergast Library Board of Trustees will meet at 5:15 p.m. Thursday. The public is welcome to attend.

Documentary To Be Shown At JCC

“RiverBlue” will be shown Wednesday as part of Jamestown Community College’s “Our Planet, Our Choice” film series. The film, free and open to the public, begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Carnahan Center Theatre. The screening is sponsored by JCC’s Earth Awareness Club and sustainable committee. “RiverBlue” brings awareness to the destruction of some of the world’s most vital rivers through the manufacture of clothing. The documentary examines the destruction of rivers, its effect on humanity, and the solutions that inspire hope for a sustainable future. Additional details can be obtained by calling 338.1347.

To Host Services

First Lutheran Church will host Holy Week services, including the Maundy Thursday service with Holy Communion on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Daniel K. Nagle will lead worship and deliver the meditation. The First Lutheran Choir, directed by Brian A. Bogey, minister of music and organist, will sing “Remember Me” by Deborah Governor for the offertory anthem. The Good Friday service will be held in the church nave with the Procession of the Cross. Marika Koch, soprano soloist, will sing “I Walked Today Where Jesus Walked” – by Geoffrey O’Hara. The public is welcome to attend these services of worship.

SW Board To Gather Today

The Southwestern Central School Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. today in the board room. The public is welcome to attend.

Library Lists Monthly Events

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Free Library invites those interested in the hobby of genealogy to visit the library on Thursday, April 25, at 6 p.m. for Genealogy Lab. This is an opportunity for in-person assistance and networking with other amateur genealogists. The Library Edition of Ancestry.com is available for public use at the library during any of the library’s open hours, and personal assistance in using this research tool is available during Genealogy Lab. An Easter crafts program will be held on Saturday, April 20, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and an Earth Day crafts program will be held on Monday, April 29, from 5-7 p.m. Children ages 8 and under must be accompanied by a caregiver during crafts programs. The library will be closed on Friday and Monday for the Easter holiday. The Board of Library Trustees will meet at the library on Wednesday, April 24, at 6 p.m. Board meetings are open to the public. The library is located at 15 Main St. in Sinclairville.

Sportman’s

Dinner On Friday

SALAMANCA — The third annual Sportsman’s Dinner will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Seneca Nation Administration Building, 90 Ohiyo Way, Salamanca. There is no charge to attend; for reservations, call 531-5133. Special guests are Dan Martin and Nathan Smoot. There will also be door prizes and a gun raffle.
