Poland Town Seniors To Gather

POLAND — The Poland Town Seniors will meet at the Kennedy Fire Hall on Wednesday, April 17, at noon for a catered meal by Three C’s Catering. Cost is $11 for members and $13 for non members. Firm reservations must be made by Monday to Sally Patchen at 487-9758. Committee for April is Coralyn Boehler. A non-perishable item for the Kennedy Food Pantry is also appreciated.

Falconer After-Prom Meeting Set

FALCONER — Falconer After-Prom will be holding one of its final meetings before the big day on Monday at 6:30 p.m. in the eighth grade project room. There will also be a senior vigil meeting immediately following the after-prom meeting. All parents of Falconer Central School juniors or seniors are encouraged to attend along with 10th grade parents. Any parents who plan on working the night of the party should try to attend the meeting. For more information, call Rosie Digirolamo at 665-6624.

Historical Society To Meet Monday

FREWSBURG — The Carroll Historical Society’s monthly meeting will be held on Monday at 7 p.m. at its building located behind the Carroll Town Hall. Discussion will be on the construction work being done on the interior walls, fundraising for the year and the open house on Saturday, May 18. A time will be set at this time for the open house. Also anyone still owing dues are asked to pay at this time. Anyone interested in becoming a member is welcome to attend. All meetings are opened to the public.

Panama School Board Meeting Set

PANAMA — The Panama Central School Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the board room. The public is welcome to attend.

Lutheran Midweek Services Wed.

The Lutheran Community Midweek Lenten Services and Luncheon will continue Wednesday at noon in the Memorial Chapel of the First Lutheran Church, 120 Chandler St., Jamestown. Guest pastor leading worship will be the Rev. John S. Macholz, Bishop of the Upstate New York Synod ELCA, Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. A 12:30 p.m. luncheon will follow in the church parlors served by the ladies of the First Lutheran Altar Society for a nominal fee. The public is welcome to attend.

JCC Earth Day To Be April 24

Jamestown Community College’s annual Earthfest celebrating Earth Day will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 24. The event, sponsored by JCC’s Earth Awareness Club and the college program committee of the JCC Faculty Student Association, is free and open to the public. Weather permitting, Earthfest will be held outside the Hamilton Collegiate Center near the pond. Otherwise, the program is held in the Student Union. Earthfest features music by acoustic guitarist Jamie Haight, beginning at 11. At noon, Jeff Musial, who has appeared on the “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” will present a program with animals from Nickel City Reptiles and Exotics. Ecofriendly products, nature photography, handcrafted items, plants, and educational displays by local environmental organizations are also featured.
