JCC Committees Set To Meet

The Jamestown Community College Finance and Audit Committee will meet Tuesday at 3 p.m. while the Human Resources Committee will meet Tuesday at 3:45 p.m. Both meetings will be held in the Hamilton Collegiate Center boardroom on the Jamestown Campus with videoconferencing to the boardrooms on the Cattaraugus County Campus and North County Extension Center. The public is welcome to attend.

Society Of Artists Meeting Tues.

CELORON — The Chautauqua County Society of Artists will meet Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the community building in Celoron in Lucille Ball Park, near the lighthouse. The program will be led by Christine Roessler , a beach glass artist from Pennsylvania. Those who have a small canvass board should bring it to the meeting as there will be a limited number of them available. At the grop’s last meeting, three new members were added to the group along with one guest and eight members attending. Popcorn and soda were served. Mary Barker and Elaine Caflisch instructed the group in watercolors. For more information, call Elaine at 763-3156.

Public Workshops Are Scheduled

Two public workshops are scheduled to solicit community input on Jamestown’s Community Development Block Grant and HOME 2019 Action Plan. The first workshop will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, at the James Prendergast Library, 509 Cherry St., in the Fireplace Room. The second workshop will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, at Persell Middle School, 375 Baker St., in the school library. The city annually qualifies for grant funding from HUD for housing and community development projects. In order to receive funding, the city is required to submit a consolidated plan that outlines community needs and how grant money will be prioritized. Community input is a part of the CDBG and HOME project planning process. In addition, the city’s Urban Design Plan has been updated is will be available for review and comment. Service Providers Gathering Tues.

MAYVILLE — Organizations providing services in Chautauqua County will gather from 9 to11 a.m. April 9 at the Chautauqua Harbor House Restaurant, 95 W. Lake Road, Mayville, . The public is invited to come and get to know some of the service providers that are available to them and their families. Providers attending include Kevin Matteson representing the AMVETS, Gail Boardway representing the Alzheimer’s Social Respite Program, Tammy Finch representing the Corry and Warren Manors, Alicia Eckstom representing The Chautauqua Center, Jillian Dahlberg representing the Visiting Nurses Association, Brenda Symans representing Elder Law and Justice in Dunkirk, Grace McKenzie representing Catholic Charities’s WIC program and other programs available through Catholic Charities, Erin Gaken representing WillCare, Karen Lucks representing Chautauqua Adult Day Centers, Robin Schroeder representing Heritage, Amanda Chase representing Eldercare Solutions of WNY, Nancy Dunbar representing Chautauqua Opportunities Dementia Care Program, Brooke Barone representing SNAP/food stamps, Robin Knepshield representing Medicaid and Judy Wroda representing the No Wrong Door/NY Connects program.
