Historical Society Gathers In Busti

BUSTI — The Busti Historical Society will hold a business meeting Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the meeting room at the Busti Museum next to the mill. Plans will be made for an appreciation party in May and for the third annual Victorian Farm to Table Dinner in June. At the March meeting Jeff Peterson was voted in for a three year term as trustee. President Bob Schultz and his wife, Judy, have been in discussion with others about seeking corporate sponsorship for the Apple Festival. Carl Schultz suggested using a rust removing and retarding compound on the iron fencing in preference to sandblasting and regular paint before it is installed around the headrace. Other topics for discussion and action included hiring a payed publicist, replacing the lawn mower, and hosting a tractor pull or a plow demonstration day. The group moved to send three members to report on the Paul Busti Park project to the Chautauqua Community Foundation. This was done March 12. Meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month, March thru December.
