Kat Jones Project Featured In April

LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood Memorial Library will feature the Kat Jones Project from April 1 through April 30 featuring a mix of paintings, photography and music. An opening reception will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 6.

Leon VFD To Meet Monday

The Leon Fire Company 1 will meet on Monday at 8 p.m. Proposed revisions to the bi-laws and constitution will be presented. Nominations of officers for the coming year will also be part of the agenda.

Ellington Quilters And Crafters Meet

ELLINGTON — The Ellington Quilters and Crafters will meet Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ellington Farman Library. All adults are invited to come and work on their project or just visit. The group meets the first and third Mondays of each month. There are plenty of outlets. The library is located in the former Lock, Stock, and Barrel on the Town Square in Ellington, 760 Thorton Road. The library is handicapped accessible. For more information, call the library at 287-2945. Library hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through thursday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The library is closed Friday and Sunday.

Ag Protection Meeting Tuesday

LITTLE VALLEY — The next Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board meeting will be Tuesday, April 2, at 1 p.m. in the Large Committee Room on the third floor of the Cattaraugus County Center in Little Valley.

Planning Board Meets Tuesday

SHERMAN — The Chautauqua County Planning Board’s monthly meeting will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, at the Department of Public Facilities Sherman Shop building, 7934 Sherman-Stedman Road, Sherman. Meetings of the County Planning Board are held on the first Tuesday of every month and are open to the public. Support Group Starts April 2

A new support group is beginning for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one after a suicide. The group meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month starting April 2 at the Phoenix Rising Wellness Studio, 509 N. Main St., Jamestown, from 7 to 9 p.m. No reservations are needed. Anyone between the ages of 14 and 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The group is co-sponsored and supported by The Community Alliance for Suicide Prevention, Chautauqua County Mental Hygiene and Phoenix Rising Wellness Studio.

Magnolia United Worship Service

MAGNOLIA — The Magnolia United Methodist Church, 3969 Route 394, north of Stow will welcome the Open Meadows United Methodist Church congregation into their membership at the morning worship service on Sunday at 11 a.m. Dinner will follow the service. Any one in the community who has had a connection to the Open Meadows church is invited to attend.
