Walkathon Is On Sunday

Centaur Stride Therapeutic Riding Facility will be hosting its 10th annual Healing With Horses Walkathon on Sunday from 2-3 p.m. at the Chautauqua Mall. The event will benefit Centaur Stride and is sponsored by the Lakewood Kiwanis Club. Sign-in will be held at 1:30 p.m. near Old Navy. Centaur Stride is a nonprofit that provides access and benefits of horseback riding and other programs to a broad spectrum of all ages with and without disabilities. Riding programs combine therapy and recreation to develop balance, coordination, strength, flexibility, posture and self-confidence. The social interactions develop a sense of acceptance and self-esteem encouraging teamwork. Riding lessons are conducted in an indoor arena or on outdoor trails with well-trained lesson horses. Clark Street Plant Tour Set

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy invites the public to see recent upgrades to the North Chautauqua Lake Sewer District’s wastewater treatment plant. The upgrades have resulted in significant, measurable improvements to the wastewater discharge and to Chautauqua Lake’s water quality. Scott Cummings, NCLSD director, will lead the tour, which will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, at the 50 Clark St. facility in Mayville. The tour is free and open to the public. Frewsburg School Board To Meet

FREWSBURG — The Frewsburg Central School Board will hold a special board meeting Monday at 5:30 p.m. in the middle-high school multi-purpose room for the purpose of approving the 2019 Capital Project and Energy Performance Project. The public is welcome to attend.

Agriculture Board Meeting April 3

WESTFIELD — The Chautauqua County Agriculture and Farmland Protection Board meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 3, at 10 a.m. in Room 331 of the Gerace Office Building, 3 N. Erie St., Mayville. Historical Society Gathers Tuesday

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Valley Historical Society will hold its first meeting of 2019 on Tuesday April 2, at 7 p.m. at the South Stockton Wayside Chapel, 5537 Route 380. As part of the meeting, a maple party will be held where attendees will be instructed in the art of whipping maple syrup into maple cream and maple sugar. All those attending are asked to bring a small bowl and a spoon. Syrup will be supplied at no charge. The Valley Historical Society is the official Historical Society of the Cassadaga Valley and has existed since 1977. Members maintain a museum building in Sinclairville filled with artifacts of the valley. Anyone interested in local history or maple cream making is invited to attend the meeting.
