Legion To Host Karaoke Friday

LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood Legion Post 1286 is hosting “Jules R Us” karaoke on Friday from 7:30-10:30 p.m. The dinner special is $7.95 fish fry or broiled fish served from 5-9 p.m. All members and guests are welcome to attend.

Commission To Meet Thursday

The Chautauqua County Parks Commission will hold its monthly meeting Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Chautauqua County Jamestown Airport. The public is invited to attend.

Blue Grass Music At Legion

The Herman Kent Post American Legion, 26 Jackson Ave., Jamestown, is hosting blue grass Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. There will be a homemade meatloaf dinner available, plus snack menu. On Saturday evening, the Legion will be hosting the band Straight Shooter. Dinners and a snack menu will be available. For questions please call 483-0777.

Dwyer Veteran’s Gala Saturday

CELORON — The Dwyer Veteran’s Gala with the theme “Old Hollywood” will be held Saturday at the Harbor Hotel, 10 Dunham Ave., Celoron. A meet-and-greet will be held at 5 p.m. and a buffet dinner at 6 p.m. Semi-formal attire is requested. Call the Dwyer office for reservation at 661-8447 or email dwyerchautauqua@gmail.com. Local Volunteers Needed In City

The Children’s Activity Corner of Jamestown, formerly known as the Children’s Museum of Jamestown, is calling for volunteers to help unload and reassemble displays and interactive elements for the facility. Volunteers are being requested at 14 E. Second St. on Saturday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 9 a.m. Nothing is very heavy, and no one will need to lift objects up stairs. The activity corner will be closed the first week of April as the new items from the Explore and More Children’s Museum of East Aurora are arranged. If available, volunteers are encouraged to help with setup the first week of April as well. Volunteers should bring work gloves or tools if they wish.

Benefit To Be Held On Sunday

FALCONER — A benefit for Becky Dewey of Falconer will be held from 1-5 p.m. Sunday at the Falconer Rod and Gun Club, with music from 3 to 5 p.m. by Warren Sischo and Friends. The cost is $10 a person and $5 for children under the age of 8. The event will include giveaways, a 50-50 drawing and a wildlife print giveaway. Dewey is a cancer survivor who has been diagnosed with broken heart syndrome.

Spring Cleanup Now Underway

LAKEWOOD — The Sunset Hill Cemetery Association will begin its spring cleanup. Those who wish to keep theirs wreaths, they must be removed by Sunday. Any remaining wreaths will be disposed of by the maintenance department.

Pastor To Hold Open House
