Class Of 1951 To Meet Wednesday

The Jamestown High School Class of 1951 will meet noon Wednesday at Alfies Restaurant for lunch. All interested in the class are invited to attend.

JPS Board To Gather Today

The Jamestown Public Schools Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. today in the Persell Middle School auditorium, 375 Baker St., Jamestown. Discussion of a Jamestown High School Music Department trip, bids for Washington Middle School reconstruction and a presentation by the Persell Middle School PTA are among items on the meeting agenda. The public is welcome to attend.

Council Meets Today At City Hall

The Jamestown Riverfront Management Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. today in the mayor’s conference room, fourth floor of city hall. Items on the agenda include discussion of Riverwalk events and an update on the Riverwalk/Parks Commission. The public is welcome to attend.

Historical Society Meets Saturday

RED HOUSE — The Allegany State Park Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the classroom building at Camp Allegany, just past Red House Lake, off Route 2. ASPHS is proud to present Edna Northrup as guest speaker. Northrup is a true inspiration and a remarkable lady. Along with her best friend, Lillian Congdon, she co-wrote a fantastic coffee table book titled, “For The Love of Skiing: Our Story of Skiing in Ellicottville,” that also covers skiing at Allegany State Park. Northrup was on Oprah Winfrey’s TV show where she was interviewed by Oprah for climbing to the Base Camp at Mt. Everest at the amazing age of 84 years old. She told Oprah that “it was something she always wished to accomplish.” Her six children include bestselling author Dr. Christiane Northrup and former Olympic Skier Penny Northrup.

Church To Host Crafters Group

KENNEDY — The Community Crafters will meet from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Kennedy First United Methodist Church upstairs in the adult room. Any adult is invited to work on their individual project and to socialize. The group meets the second and fourth Wednesday during the school year. The church is at the corner of Church and Second streets, Kennedy, and is handicapped-accessible through the lower side door.

Class To Hold Pasta Dinner

The Jamestown High School Class of 2019 is sponsoring a homemade pasta dinner on Thursday from 3:30-7 p.m. at the Elks Club, 339 E. Fourth St., Jamestown. Tickets are $8 for adults. Dinner includes salad, pasta, meatballs, dessert and drink. Take-out orders are available. Proceeds will benefit the Child Advocacy Program.

Council Meets On Thursday

MAYVILLE — The Local Early Intervention Coordinating Council will meet at 12:30 p.m. Thursday on the second floor of the Hall R. Clothier Building, 7 N. Erie St., Mayville. The council is made up of professionals and parents that are involved in the Early Intervention Program in Chautauqua County. For more information, call 753-4788 or attend a council meeting.
