Gallery To Host New Exhibits
Two new exhibitions, “Grit” by Rabecca Signoriello and “Classical Landscapes” by Sean Witucki, open at the Crary Art Gallery at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, and runs through Saturday, March 2. The north galleries of the museum will feature works by Signoriello, a painter living in New Castle, Pa., who earned her Master of Fine Art degree from New York Academy of Art in Manhattan. She completed her undergraduate work at Edinboro University and also studied painting at institutions in Germany and Florence, Italy. In the south galleries, the Crary will simultaneously be exhibiting works by a devotee of traditional techniques and subjects, Sean Witucki, a painter from the Buffalo area. Witucki’s painting techniques reflect a great interest in the methods employed by 19th century artists of the Romantic strain of American landscape painting. Borrowing from this tradition, Sean creates a deliberate nostalgia for lands not ravaged by modern civilization. Crary Art Gallery, a nonprofit art museum located in historic downtown Warren, Pa., was established in 1977.
