Historical Society To Hear Speaker

RED HOUSE — The Allegany State Park Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the classroom building at Camp Allegany, just past Red House Lake, off of ASP Route 2. Guest speaker will be John Snyder, park manager at Allegany State Park. Snyder worked his way up from starting at the park as a lifeguard to becoming an IT “tech guy” who covered the entire western district of New York State Parks, then to his present position of Manager of the Red House side of Allegany State Park. He will talk about that, as well as his functions, duties and responsibilities at the state park itself. He will also discuss future projects that the park may have in store.

Women’s Club To Meet Tuesday

LAKEWOOD — Women who live in the village of Lakewood are invited to the Women’s Club’s meeting on Tuesday. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Gloria Dei Church located at 35 W. Fairmount Ave. in Lakewood. The evening’s agenda will include a brief business meeting followed by a white elephant auction. Last year’s auction was a tremendous success with all proceeds going to support the scholarship fund. Please bring a festively wrapped white elephant gift to be auctioned. Boys, Girls Club Open On Holiday

The Winifred Crawford Dibert Boys and Girls Club will be open for all youth Monday for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday. Hours at the club for youth members are noon-4:45 p.m. All program areas will be open and there will be an afternoon snack and lunch. Free swim will be from 12:30-4:30 p.m. Youth members can attend at no charge while non-members are $1/day. The Club pool, gym and weight room will be open for adult members from 7 a.m. to noon. There are no adult or youth swim classes or lessons on Columbus Day. There is the basketball league on Monday night.

Library To Hold Jam Session

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Free Library invites the public to participate in a musical jam session on Thursday, Jan. 31 from 5 -7 p.m. Bring your voices and/or instruments as the library comes together to make music in the community. Audience members are also needed. This event is free and open to all ages. Please call 962-5885 for additional information. The library will be closed on Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Tea Party Sets Jan. 22 Meeting

LAKEWOOD — The Southern Tier Tea Party Patriots will meet Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. at the Lakewood American Legion. Special guest will be Kevin Muldowney, representative from State Sen. Cathy Young’s office. He will discuss issues which concern Young since Democrats took control of the Senate. Members will view the Prager video, “World War I: The War That changed Everything.”

Library Trustees Meet Tuesday

BUSTI — The Hazeltine Public Library Trustees will hold their January meeting on Tuesday at 5 p.m. The meeting will be held at the library, 891 Busti Sugargrove Road.
