Reed Town Hall Meeting Thursday

STOCKTON — U.S. Rep. Tom Reed will hold a town hall meeting from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Stockton Volunteer Fire Department, 28 S. Main St., Stockton. In the event Reed is not available to attend, Alison Hunt, district director, will be present to speak to constituents.

BBC To Sponsor Breakfast At Hall

BBC will sponsor a Christmas breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 22, at the Eastside Fellowship Hall, 322 Woodlawn Ave., Jamestown. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children.

CARTS To Host Free Routes

The Chautauqua Area Regional Transit System will hold a Free Friday Fixed Routes on Friday for riders utilizing its city-fixed routes in the Dunkirk and Jamestown areas. Riders can use the Dunkirk Green and Dunkirk Red routes at no cost from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and the Jamestown City-Fixed Routes of Willard, Baker, Southwest Express, North Main, Lakewood and Falconer at no cost from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. “We are pleased to offer this Free Friday Fixed Routes to our CARTS customers,” said Brad Bentley, Chautauqua County director of public facilities. “We hope it provides people with an easy way to finish their last minute holiday shopping, visit a friend or go to the grocery store.” For more information about CARTS, visit co.chautauqua.ny.us/799/CARTS or facebook.com/CARTS.NY/, or call 800-388-6534.

Park To Hold First Day Hike

Allegany State Park will host its First Day Hike, a self-guided hike on Bear Paw located at the Summit Area of the Red House side of the park, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 1. The hike is 2.4 miles in length and easy-to-moderate in intensity. It begins at the Summit Warming Hut (Site 16) and follows the scenic ridgeline to Stone Tower, then loops back to the Warming Hut. Interpretive points of interest can be found along the way. Participants should begin the hike by stopping in the Summit Warming Hut to sign in and pick up a trail map. The Friends of Allegany State Park will be on hand to help register hikers. They have donated and will be serving free hot chocolate, coffee and tea as well as roasting some Sahlen hot dogs. J-Con concessions has donated chili. Refreshments will be available from noon-2 p.m. at the Warming Hut. Guided hikes begin at noon. Those attending should dress for the weather and be sure to wear appropriate footwear and/or snowshoes. Church To Host Christmas Dinner

KENNEDY — Kennedy First United Methodist Church will hold its ninth annual Christmas Day Dinner on Christmas Day from 1-3 p.m. The dinner is open to all at no charge. Those who are alone or want to share a dinner with others are welcome to attend. The menu includes turkey and ham, potatoes, stuffing, salad, dessert and beverage. No reservations are required, but attendees are encouraged to come early and stay to visit with others. Take-out meals will be available. The dinner will be held in the church’s fellowship hall. The church is handicapped-accessible through the lower side door which takes those attending directly to the fellowship hall.
