Santa Workshop Planned Friday
The Jamestown YMCA’s downtown branch will host Santa’s Family Workshop from 7-9 p.m. Friday. Activities include craft/ornament making tables, face painting and holiday” tattoos,” Christmas sing-a-long, Big Challenge Obstacle Course, holiday games, cookie frosting, Rainbow the Clown, Elfercise and a visit from Santa Claus and other costumed characters. The cost is $1 per person; children ages 2 and under are free. Erene Society To Host Bazaar
The Ladies Erene Society will hold its 51st annual Christmas bazaar, bake sale and luncheon from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. A Balkan lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m.
Local Author To Speak At Library
FALCONER — On Saturday, the Falconer Public Library will welcome local writer Bob Terreberry in the library’s main room from 10 a.m. to noon. Terreberry will present his new novel, the second in the Colin O’Brien Maple Springs Mystery Series. In 2016, Terreberry introduced the series in a book entitled Murder at Maple Springs. The series is in the cozy mystery genre and chronicles the Colin O’Brien adventures in “a beauty spot on Lake Chautauqua”, Maple Springs. The second book is entitled Reunion at Maple Springs. Terreberry will give a brief talk at 10:30 a.m. and will also have both books available for sale and signing.
W Side Women To Meet Dec. 7
At the Oct. 26 meeting of the West Side Women, the group learned about the services provided by the CARTS organization from Jennifer Blair, mobility manager. Other business conducted at this meeting was to unanimously approve a donation from the group’s treasury to the Child Advocacy Program of Chautauqua County, which seeks to end child abuse in the county. The annual Christmas luncheon will be held on Friday, Dec. 7, at noon at Fairpointe Village.
Spire Announces December Events
The Spire announces “Pearl City Jazz Holiday Concert” and the InSpire Holiday Pop-Up Market as part of the continuation of the Raise the Roof Capital Campaign. Both events are happening on Dec. 8 at The Spire Theater in Jamestown. The holiday market will run from noon-6 p.m. in The Odyssey Banquet Hall featuring over 20 local vendors with artisan, handmade and seasonal items, food and drinks, prize drawings and fun festivities for kids and adults. The concert will begin at the culmination of the market at 6 p.m. Pearl City Jazz, a Jamestown-area Big Band, is playing a holiday fundraising concert at the Spire Theater. Great jazz and holiday classics will be featured with special guest “Dem Bones” trombone ensemble. The two musical groups plan to play a variety of holiday classics and a selection of jazz favorites. Dem Bones will be the opening act of the concert at 6 p.m. Pearl City Jazz will follow after a brief intermission.
UCAN Open House Saturday
The UCAN City Mission, 7 W. First St., Jamestown, will hold its annual open house Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The public is welcome to come and take a tour of the mission. Refreshments will also be provided.
