Frewsburg BOE To Meet Thursday

FREWSBURG — The Frewsburg School Board will hold its regular meeting Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the Robert H. Jackson Elementary Cafeteria. The public is welcome to attend.

Library To Hold Christmas Bazaar

FLUVANNA — The Fluvanna free Library will hold its annual Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The library is located at 3532 Fluvanna Ave., next to the Fluvanna Fire Hall. For more information, call 487-1773 during regular business hours or email flulib@stny.rr.com. The library is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Church To Serve Lunch Wednesday

The Altar and Rosary Society of St. Dominic Roman Catholic Church, located at 17 Union St., Westfield, will be holding its annual fall soup and sandwich luncheon on Wednesday, Nov. 7, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parish hall. Besides the homemade soups, there will be a variety of desserts and beverages for $6. Take-outs will be available.

JCC To Honor New President

A community reception for Jamestown Community College’s new president, Daniel DeMarte, will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 7, from 4-5 p.m. at the Robert H. Jackson Center. The evening will feature a brief meet and greet followed by an interview starting at 4:15 p.m. DeMarte will sit down with local interviewer Greg Peterson to talk more about his background, professional career and new role as president of JCC. This free and public event is hosted by the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation and is open to all community members. DeMarte was appointed president of JCC by the State University of New York board of trustees in June of this year.

Ripley UMC To Serve Breakfast

RIPLEY — The Ripley United Methodist Church will host its next all-you-can-eat breakfast from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10. Breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, bacon, made-to-order eggs and omelets, home fries, biscuits and sausage gravy, orange juice and coffee. The price is $7. Proceeds will benefit the Love Bear Project.

What’s New Fair Set For Nov. 17

The 63rd annual What’s New Fair, sponsored by the American Association of University Women, will take place Nov. 17 and 18 at the Hamilton Center at Jamestown Community College. The Fair raises scholarships for women graduating from JCC and JBC going on for more education. AAUW-Jamestown has raised over $400,000 for local women since 1955. The Fair will feature more than 65 vendors, a Sweet Shoppe, raffle, door prizes and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. Admission is $5 at the door, $3 for students with ID and children 12 and under are free. Hours are Saturday Nov. 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Veterans Day Breakfast Set

Jamestown Elks Lodge 263, 339 E. Fourth St., Jamestown, will hold its annual Veterans Day Breakfast at 9 a.m. Sunday. Breakfast is free for all veterans.
